Great monitor, great price.

Considering I just upgraded from a half-broken 17-inch CRT, almost any monitor would’ve been nice already. I actually swtiched to this one after the failure of the Acer AL2016WBbd (the bottom started to bleed after 15 minutes of use…).
Let’s see, great price, a LOT of real estate in both monitor and table top. Widescreen OWNZ. Picture quality, after a bit of tweaking was EXCELLENT. I did think it was a bit bright when I first turned it on, but after some tweaking and adjusting, it was alright. Backlight can be seen at the top and bottom, but generally unnoticeable unless you’re staring at a pure black screen (why would you do that…). Being a gamer (CS:S, Medieval 2 Total War, WC3:TFT to name a few), and anime junky, any weird ghosting and stuff is an issue and with LCD monitors now-a-days this is almost a non issue – certainly not for this monitor.
Compared to the AL2016WBbd, the monitor stand was 10 times better and is actually height adjustable and angle adjustable. Pretty handy; no need to stack books to make it higher.
Tuning and calibration was made a breeze with MagicTune, but it can be at first…
Only Cons
-a little too bright
-could be bigger ;-)
Pros
-crystal clear picture quailty
-nice free colour calibration software
-cheaaaaap
-nice and big :-)
-no ghosting or anything
