I would have expected more from this phone. The music player is okay, and it’s size and light weight is a plus. It has frozen on me a lot when I try to make a call and the only solution would be to take the battery out. Accessing files on the phone is slow if you have a lot of music and files on it, which is kind of contradicting. When you try to rename a picture that you just took, it deletes it instead. Sometimes when you try to perform a function it brings you to something else. You can’t really have full ringtones since it eats up all the phone memory. It becomes really annoying to use after a while. I exchanged the phone for a new one and the same things happened.

Totally agree with Steve over the Battery life. Last less than 2 days, specs says 10 days on Standby. I use less than 10 minutes per day and don’t use MP3 player. Return to TMobile twice and they refuse to exchange for different model.

Nice phone with crappy battery life. Not worth it.

DO NOT GET THIS PHONE !!! No battery life whatsoever. Both me and my wife have this phone and have this problem. We were sent new batteries with the same result. Also, the phone locks up and the battery must be removed to unlock the phone.

This is a great phone, a small compact size, lots of cool features from t-mobile, a great camera, good volume, love the music player, but it keeps freezing up whenever I use hold or mute, and then I have to take out the batteries to turn it off. Wish I could do something about that. It also doesn’t a long battery life.

  6. Review misstatement

In regards to the phone’s pack-ins and sound quality, the device includes a hands-free set equipped with an adapter to accept most models of head phones, and changing the EQ setting to ‘rock’ fixes the low bass.

Unfortunately, due to a packaging snafu at the kiosk I got the phone, I am left without headphones and the kiosk is not keen on supplying me with them. More a knock against T-Mobile than the phone itself…

It seems to be a great little phone. After cycling the battery, it seems to have decent standby time, but the battery takes a hit while browsing T-zones or using the mp3 player.

The fact that it came free with a 1g SD card is beyond awesome. Given the $20 price tag after rebate, the amount of pack-ins that are–supposed– to be in this kit make it a heck of a value.

    I’m happy with it.

  7. I like it!

I just upgraded from an old school phone with no frills. With my rebate? They PAID me a dollar to buy this phone. I love it. Very small, lightweight and the MP3 player are great.

I think people that aren’t impressed by this phone expect WAY too much from a PHONE. If I wanted a computer in my pocket, I’d BUY one.

The ringtone IS too soft though. I had to find the “just right” song — one that had an instant high tempo — to make it usable.

  8. Samsung Beat Cons

Somewhat disappointed…main reason of buying was the Talk/Standby times- 6 hrs. Talk time & 15 days Standby Time. Only get about 5 days of Standby Time with very limited daily use. Battery life very undesirable, unless I got a bad one!

Also, very low ringtone volume/loudness, even at its highest volume setting. Talk & End/Power keypad buttons small & flush. Hard to see and feel in the dark.
