I too have had nothing but trouble with this device. It has been back for “authorized factory service” twice and it STILL does not work in all modes it is suppose to.

From day one, this DVD recorder didn’t work well. Just recently, it stopped reading original DVD’s. It only works with DVD backups! Unbelievable!

Do not even think of buying this. Instead, I recommend the Philips 3455H. It’s the best HDD-DVD recorder. No complaints so far.

LEMON ALERT! Do not buy ever buy this if you want to be out of problems. I bought one 15 months ago, and I had it replaced by Samsung TWICE since then. That makes an average life span of 5 months, before it starts making funny noises and gradually rejects more and more discs until the day you power it on and doesn’t read anything anymore…
