i have bought the dvd-vr mainly to copy my old vhs tapes to a safer cd/dvd format but i discover that the unit is protected not to copy films with copyright, so i can not make my own copies for myself ! I tried first with vhs tapes from disny from my child sand does not work

I just bought the Samsung VR330 Recorder-VCR Combo less than two weeks ago and this seems to be a very nice unit.It is a multiformat which uses DVD-R/-R DL/+R/+R DL/RAM. When you hit record it starts right up. I first recorded a program with the speed set on SP. The remote is very easy to work with. When i played it back it looked just like the original program. Then i thought,I wonder how this will do on LP. So i picked up the remote, selected LP and hit record.I saw very little {If Any] differance. The sound and video was still great. I couldnt ask for better video and audio guality. Then i thought, i wonder how the dubbing will do? So I poped in a VCR tape, hit VCR>DVD and i was amazed at the recording quality and clarity on the television. Also this unit also needs only one set of cables to go from the Vr330 to the television. Now this unit does NOT have a HDTV output but it has progressive scan and EVQ (Enhanced Video Quality) makes up the difference. It also has a firewire input on the front panel for recording from a video camera.
Also I have been using the disks i still have left which are fugifilm,Sony,And Verbatim DVD+R with no compatibility problems. To me this unit is everything i could expect
