How to use your iPod with the HT-X810

You won’t be able to use your iPod through USB. On an iPod mp3 files are saved under several hidden folders, the lamest protection Apple folks could think of. Therefore the unit cannot see them.
I also suggest you use your iPod through the Aux entry. Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is one of a few of Apple stupidities.
But if you have plenty of disc space on your iPod, and if it is not set to Auto-Sync, you could try copying the mp3 files you want to read onto the root drive using Explorer.

IPOD connectivity

I too had little success in connecting IPOD via USB port. I guess the file types are incompatible. I plan on just using the 3.5mm aux in jack just above the USB port and see how well that works. This way does requires a separate wire you can buy just about anywhere. Otherwise I love it! Samsung gets an A for ease of connection and use. Love the subwoofer and the fact I didn’t have to run any wires. Bluetooth audio headset is great for watching movies after the kids go to bed and you need to be quiet!

Samsung HT-X810 with an ipod?
By: Ines Thornburg

I got my soundbar set up today and am trying to figure out if I can use my ipod with it via the USB port. Has anyone gotten that to work? Other than that, I love it so far.

Nice if you want the subwoofer to drive you out of the room

I like the unit except for one big exception. The factor adjustment settings for the subwoofer don’t allow you to take it down any further than -6db. In a small room with a tile floor, it sounds like you’re at a concert with the bass player sitting in the corner with his amp cranked up too loud. Plus, you can hear every mistake he makes. A call to customer support produced a reset of the unit with no change and a “there’s nothing else we can do” comment. I asked if any firmware could fix the problem and was told none was planned. I said there was something I could do and that was to find every board there is to write a negative review. I spent well over $2k on this unit and a matching 40″ 1080p Samsung LCD. Everything else is fantastic with this being the only missing link. We are now hunting for pillows to enclose the sub in. Just hope it doesn’t overheat.
