My TV is now officially considered garbage. My rating is actually a “0″ but the stars wouldn’t allow it.

I purchased this TV for $800 in Dec. 05′. First repair was Nov. 07′, second repair was July 08′ and is now in for repair again! This time the TV might be garbage. Repair costs will exceed the value. My mistake was not buying an extended warranty that everyone says is a waste of money. I think not! Will not buy another Samsung product. They will not stand behind their products.

I bought this television on sale (for $770) in August 2006. A month ago the picture started to go light then dark and sometimes it will have a green, blue or red tint. I called Samsung and they said my warrenty had expired in March and suggested I call a TV repair company. The TV repair company is going to charge $95 just to come and look at it. I think I am going to ditch the TV and get a new, cheaper set.

The picture has a nasty curvature from left to right.First I would like to say I would rather stick nails into my eyae then report a problem to the Samsung service/call centre – WASTE OF BREATH.
It took me 2 months to get a serviceman in.he came in and looked confused to say the least. The picture is now worse then prior his visit.Samsung has not done a thing about it and it does not seem to care since they suggest that’s how the picture should be.I will never purchase another Samsung crap piece os s… ever again nor will I let anybody else buy one.The company has really changed. The bottom line matters – we the consumers, are worth nothing.SONY all the way.

  5. Buyer Beware!

We purchased our Samsung 30 inch TX-R3079WH TV from Circuit City in September 2005. Out of the box, the unit had an audio problem (the right speaker rattled or had a hum when certain low frequencies were played). After 90 days the noise was unbearable so we called Circuit City for an exchange. They agreed and we exchanged the original TV for a replacement. We’ve had the second TV now for 48 hours and — out of the box — the picture tube has a problem. In the lower left corner of the screen is a purple “blob” that displays as a gradient extending toward the center of the picture for a distance of approximately 6 inches. It is very distracting! So…tomorrow we call Circuit City again and either ask for our money back or another TV exchange. Where is the quality control for this Samsung product??? We paid over $850 for this set after using a Sony 19 inch for 13 years which had no audio or picture tube problems…buyer beware!

After watching the TV for 9 days (while watching a cooking show), I thought the chefs were burning the food; smellevision. Something smelled. The TV started clicking on and off. Audible clicking sounds were coming from the TV, but it wasn’t the food burning. After realizing that the burning smell and the clicking sound was coming from the back of the TV, I quickly turned off my 10 day old TV. I didn’t want it to catch fire!
