This was the top rated mp3 flash player in 2007 for CR beating out the Ipod Nano, and for good reason, besides more features, like FM, it has a better sound. But now they are not easy to find. Got mine on Ebay for a steal, but I was lucky. Get one if you can find it, matches the Koss Porta Pro perfectly.

The Samsung- T99 is a solid MP3 player: excellent sound, good form factor, lots of options. All these reviews discuss the highs so I’ll just throw in some cons. The processor is sluggish and the flash interface doesn’t help. At least 8 seconds to load and sometimes and scrolling through a lot of music causes a slight lag. Which reveals another problem, scrolling through music with the T9 buttons can get annoying because, after a bit of use the buttons occasionally don’t register properly when you press them. Though overall the buttons feel solid. If it had a better button layout I would give it a 9 or better but having to deal with buttons on both the side and the front is annoying at times.
Still better than a Nano though.

Nice design, compact, great battery life, user-friendly. Worth the price. More music compatibility.
Con: for me, 4gig is not enough. Hope they make more storage. Btw, I don’t put videos on my yep, just music!

The Samsung t9 is better than the nano: excellent sound quality great video/pictures.
Nice compact sleek design smaller than your average cell phone. Recommend you upgrade the earbuds. Good type of earbuds: Sennheiser works very well, you save money instead of the more expensive ones, but you can go for those expensive ones like Shure4 or Bose. One minor defect it has a bad FM transmitter, but thats the only thing. Get it while it last in stores.

I just bought mine and so far i’m very satisfied with it. It’s sleek and packed w/ a lot of punch. I like the display and the sound is incredibly clear. I did replaced the ear buds for a much better fit. Downloading music from an online store was very easy. With lack of available cradle, like iPods, I ended up getting a Logitech’s x-240 3pc speaker set ($50). It has a control stand for an MP3 player (designed for iPods of course) for easy speaker connection. Not bad at all for the price, you still need to have it connected to the PC for re-charging. Overall it’s a great buy.

I think the T9 is kinda ugly personally, but it sounds great and really does have a lot of features. I would recommend upgrading the ear buds though.
