Great player in concept and good sound…….when plugged into charger. Absolutely unreliable battery recharge-will not fully recharge overnight even with Wi-Fi circuits off and short battery life and unresponsive controls at times. No FM radio-should be able to connect to FM radio URL on Wi-Fi but cant.

Good for the ONLINE experience

I have had many MP3 players beginning with the original Rio PMP300 way back when. While most offer very similar features – this is the first I have ever owned that had the ability to communicate (and download) directly from the Internet. This player has very rich sound, a high-rez display and the ability to always have updated music if you subscribe to the Yahoo! Music-To-Go subscription plan. You can always use it to listen to the free Yahoo! music stations as well. Outside of this, some people may be disappointed by the lack of support for other music types like OGG and AAC, etc. However, WMA sounds very good at low bit rates so that part is all user experience. It has a nice look and feel. The unit is very lightweight considering its size and rechargeable batteries are always a nice bonus. Battery life is good if you don’t make the screen stay on constantly. The Yahoo! services integration is very good, for the Yahoo! radio, the Yahoo! Unlimited Music Services (subscription) and even Yahoo! messenger support. The cons: lack of support for other file types (ogg, AAC, flac, etc.); You cannot download photos to the unit – they must remain on a micro SD card; No direct-drive letter support (everything MUST be loaded to it via Yahoo! Music Player or through the Yahoo!/Zing services); does not come with a very nice carrying case; no support for external streams with the WiFi connection (It’s Yahoo! music or nothing…:(….) The goods: Unit is good looking and the GUI is very nice. If you subscribe to Yahoo! Unlimited-To-Go you get instant one-button gratification by downloading songs instantly to your collection! (That rocks); WiFi radio and support is good and sensitivity is also good. The mixes, Flickr (online photos) are also benefits – using mix you can have Yahoo! generate a “mix” to listen to similar to the genre/style that you are currently listening to – good for variety. — All in all, if you are looking for a good ‘online’ based player – for new content (as well as displays of cover thumbnails) – this is the player for you. If you are looking to use it as a ’storage drive’ or looking to cover all the audio formats, you may wish to seek another player. But this is a good unit and anyone who lives on the Internet as I do would welcome it. I’d love to see support for personalized streaming stations and drag-and-drop support for photos.

I just bought this as I am a Yahoo music member, but be warned that the WiFi does not work at public hot spots like Panera Bread, B&N, and Starbucks (unless your a member). I am taking it back since that is the main reason I bought it so I would not have to lug my laptop to these spots. That is the only issue I had.

I just bought this at Circuit City for 199.99, it was an upgrade from my older Sansa and is way better. The screen looks cool, is bright and easy to navigate with and is easy to read, I had no trouble setting it up. It doesnt work on my Mac, but other than that, I love it.
