Exceptionally poor value??

I gave this to my dad a few weeks back, and he’s been raving about it non-stop. Best gift I ever bought him (other than the Clapper…). No PCs to sync with, no downloads, no credit cards or subscriptions… I am surprised that you try to judge this player through your techie eyes without thinking of the millions of people who fell of the music grid when records and CDs turned into “downloads”… exceptionally poor value? Where else (other than bittorrent or emule) can you get 1000 songs for $40? Please share… You’re like someone who knows the city streets real well and thinks that because he knows the map, GPS is a bad idea for newbies (or oldies, like my dad) in town…
