What a Complete Joke

This worked for a very short time. If you change your router, you have to start all over. Then when you call tech support you get folks that you can’t understand who want to charge you 49 bucks, don’t buy this piece of crap. Even when it “works” it is like watching a bad movie from 1950.

The slingbox sucks....excuse me but it does

I’ve spent 20 + hours on the phone trying to get my Slingbox working again and again. It worked and then it didn’t work. I had to un-install and install several times. It worked and then it didn’t work. When you’re remote no one will help you. They tell you to call back when you’re back at home so you can see what the Slingbox is doing. Well it works when I’m home, but it doesn’t work when I’m remote. Isn’t that the whole point, to view you TV/DVR while you’re away from home. Bottom line ….DON”T WASTE YOUR MONEY….I wish I could get mine back, but I can’t.

A great concept, just not working for me.

I am a bit disappointed. The setup was the easy part, but the big downside is that my laptop cannot cannot to my Slingbox unless I am on my Wi-Fi at home; absolutely will not connect from the internet anywhere else. Could be that I use Verizon broadband outside the house and AT&T Uverse with 2Wire router at home. It also will not work with my Blackberry Storm, so I am thinking about taking it back.

I am having trouble using or configuring the above receiver’s remote control with the sling box. Sling box work great but can’t change channels thru a Laptop. Homezone receivers only work with there own remote control… Cannot use Universal or other means of codes to configure receiver I am working on getting a different Setup box…

connection to cable using a SBG900 wireless router
By: Ross
June 20, 2007 @ 5:29 PM48ppm6>
I am having trouble using the above modem with the sling box. the sling boxis connected to the one ethernet cable. The wireless is communicating to my main computer no problem. When I use the RJ 45 connector on back of the SBG900 for the computer works okay. I setup the SBG900
to port forward (5001) in the gateway/port forwarding software of the SBG900. I have given the sling application a IP address that is in the range of the SBG900.
I dont think that the wireless adapter needs port forwarding between computer and its netgear USB wireless adapter.

I set it up in my home and my friend in Russia viewed my tv channels in a near perfect picture. This is great if you are a traveller and do not want to watch Romanian folk dancing all night long in your hotel.
