I don’t know if your using scratched discs but my drive reads great. Burns at 52X!!! It’s incredible when I can burn a music CD in 2 minutes flat! And it reads fine anywhere! I’ve had this drive for almost 5 years now and burned over 100 CDs and it woks great.

Okay, not the best.

DVD read works fine. But the thing doesn’t read CDs properly. Gives whirring sounds sometimes. I tried lens cleaners and stuff, but no use. Writer isn’t that great either.

Great Drive

Bought this drive back in December of 2005. Has run flawlessly using nero on WinXP machine. Back then dvd burner were pricey and budget was tight so had to settle for cd burning capability with only dvd read capability. Absolutely no complaints. I have buned on both high and low quality cds with no problems at all. A good investment that is still running strong.

I changed sony dvd drive because when I put a dvd drive takes a lot of time to open a disc and it makes an horrible sound. just after 3 months of use.
so I bought a lg dvd drive and works well.

i just got mine in the mail, its bad dont get it. u have to hold the eject button for 5 seconds to get turbo mode, and ontop of that , it does not perform as advertised.
