With three different camera in this line of the Sony camcorder, choosing was difficult. But after some review, I went with the DCR-HC30. Why? If your looking for good quality digital pictures, go buy a 5 Mega Pixel Digital Camera. The ability to take digital pictures is not that good with any camcorder on the market today, except for e-mailing and basic picture taking. I bought this camera for a few features…..night shot, digital pass through capability, and size. All of which have worked as they said they would.
The next better Sony camcorder had no improvements, other than the digital photography increased by 1 megapixel. Not enough for me to warrant paying the extra money.
I bought my camera about 6 months ago at Best Buy for $500.00 with warranty. And I’m happy wity it.
