I chose this phone for the simple fact that it had a good camera. For the price I paid for it (nothing) I can’t really complain, but I’ve had it for less then a year and I already had it sent for servicing (and had a really BAD phone replacement for a week). The screen freezes, and the joy stick works when it feels like it. Although I’ve enjoyed using this phone for the camera, I’m happy I’m going to be upgrading to a new phone.

Only a little disappointed...

I purchased the Sony Ericsson K790A from the biggest telephone company in the Dominican Republic. The telephone is beautiful having everything I was looking for especially a camera with a superb resolution. My only complaint about this phone is the poor resolution when the video recorder is used. There’s no reason for this company make a cell phone advertising a good camera and so bad a video camera.

Worst Customer Service Ever!!

I bought a K790a last year. After 6 months of owning this phone it suddenly stopped working one day. The screen would flash on and off and nothing seems to work.
I sent it to Sony Ericsson to fix it and they sent it back to me saying it’s water damaged even though I’m 100% sure it didn’t touch water anywhere. The white strip inside the phone is still white. They claimed it could be humidity from the air that caused corrosion. How bad is this phone’s design that it can be damaged from humidity??? That’s just ridiculous.
So now my phone is dead and they won’t fix it. They wasted my time trying to call them and sending them the phone. Very rude service reps too. Worst customer support ever!!!

I got this phone Sony Ericsson K790a to replace my Sony Ericsson W580 and W810i and my Motorola.
This is the best phone ever… beside I only can compare it with my Blackberry 8100 Pearl. The battery life is just as great as my W810i.
I recommend this phone to anyone….
If you want a good phone this is the one you will like and reliable.
Simply the best.

The screen always freezes and I can never seem to get it to work properly. Sticks with Nokia, their phones are always reliable.

Terrible phone, I find menu sections and so on not very user friendly. Joystick stopped working quite quickly and screen freezes frequently. Very frustrating.

Too quiet sounding

I have turned the volume all the way up and it still sounds like the other end is whispering. There is no button to press to switch it to speaker phone. You have to pull up a menu to do so. There is a button to press to access the internet. It happens to be in a spot that is always pushed by accident, so I get charged for surfing the net and I don’t even know about it. I am very disappointed.

I have owned 3 Sony phones and this one by far is the best I really like everything about it and everything works correctly without any glitches or buttons getting in the way.
