    I just bought a TomTom 340S three weeks ago. Navigation to places I went was excellent. My only complaint is that the disk furnished to mount the unit to the windshield or window sucks – it already will not hold the unit. After a few seconds it falls off. What good is it? I have to lay the unit on a seat and hopefully it won’t loose the signal. Mounting disk is trash!

    Totally hung up the third time I used it. I had to pay to send it back which cost $18 as they only accept UPS or FedEx. BUMMER!

    Software hard to use.

    Website hard to use. Didn’t explain what the choices are.

    Contacting the company is a PAIN!

    Upgraded from an older Tom Tom. Loving the new slim widescreen. Having no problems at all with it. Just make sure it’s snapped into the the mount properly.

    I had problems with the first unit that stemmed from the map and voice update. TomTom’s desktop software stated updates were available and so I installed them. Later I found that a computer voice update caused the text to speech function to stop working. The map update, which I had been advised was fixed, did not update properly and I had no map available. So, why did I exchange if for a 2nd unit? I like the functions the unit offered and the price. Having spent two days trying to the get the first unit working, I now knew what to do and what not to do. Don’t update the map, at least not yet, don’t install voice unless you really need it and you have backed up the unit first. Do update the unit’s operating system. Do remember while updating that the unit has a 1.1usb connection which is very slow. It can take hours to load certain updates. Back the unit up before you do any updates. There is no memory card slot, it has 2GB memory built in. Keeping all the above in mind, I love my unit. the preloaded maps have been flawless, I like the options offered it acquires satellites quickly, and the construction feels solid.

  6. Poor Product Very Poor Customer Support

    This Product has been defective since day one. When to update the unit and it locked up.The customer support is more worried about placing blame on you then the problem.. DId some research on the net and have found that this is a common problem and they are doing nothing to fix it other than stressing the consumer.Buy from a different manufacture!
