The price now for a demo model is $49 at the Real Canadian Super Store; that is if you can get your hands on one.

I purchased this unit at zellers (canada) about a month ago. Paid 299.00. So fa it has played every formatof disc I have created with my PC (dvd-+r, vcd, svcd, mp3cd, mp3dvd, photocd). I have succefully burned dvd-r on the unit and the dvd-ram disc just stays in my box for timeslip (live tv puase). The timeslip is the best feature of the unit, it is great to pasue tv to use the washroom during a movie, as well the chase play (watch a program from beiginning as it is still be recorded) is cool, you can fast forward commercials this way, I watch almost all my shows with a half hour lag so I do this now. All in all a great buy. Down side thatI see is no Dual Layer record support (at least not documented in the manual)
