XBOX Elite....Its AWESOME!!!

I have the 60gb and the Elite Xbox. These systems are amazing. Although when using the DVD it runs rather loud so I bought the External HD-DVD Player. Graphics are much sharper than the PS3 and the game library of the Xbox is much larger than the PS3. I will keep these systems forever. One more thing, I also have the Original Xbox and it still plays like NEW…ROCK on XBOX!!!!!

Best system out there

March 11, 2009 @ 12:05 PM06ppm3>
Ok, hold the phone. Who ever said the Elite is “too loud” is a hypocrite with nothing else better to do than make up lies. My farts are 10 times louder than the Elite. And the thing doesn’t get extremely hot unless you play it 24/7 nonstop. That’s with any game console. I’ve had the Elite for 5 or 6 days and I’m baffled by the awesome machine Microsoft came up with this time. The graphics are AWESOME. And really, who cares about built in wifi. I sure don’t. Most of the time the “red rinf of death” is due to leaving the console on for a long period of time. Basically to me, the Elite is an awesome piece of gaming technology and DEFINITELY worth the money.

With the new Xbox Elite System you get so much more than any of the older systems! The 120GB HDD is awesome for storing games and content and the HDMI output is great for anyone who has a HD-TV. I love all of the games that are available and Xbox Live rocks! Streaming Netflix is a huge bonus too!

I have had this console for about 3 months now and I love everything about it. The hard drive is the best I have almost filled up the whole thing, yeah 120 GB of it. I have a lot of game demos and arcade games for it and the coolest part about buying the elite is the black headset, controller and console.

Elite not as good as Halo
By: Kevin
January 14, 2008 @ 5:20 PM41ppm1>
The overheating and red ring of death will still occur in elites and standard xbox360s. Do your research, the cooling problems associated with 360s is caused by a lack of airflow due to the physical size and operating temps of the chipsets. ONLY HALO Xbox 360 has the new improved “falcon”chipsets.Elites is the same old junk with added hdmi port. I own PS3 and xbox360, when running identical games (R6v) the Xbox wins hands down. However the PS3 is the better media center

I’ve never had a product that fails after two month of normal use. Internal hard drive failure is the reason why my XBOX does not work. How can a product have internal hard after two month of use. I have a super nintendo that has lasted ten years let alone two month. TRASH is the only I can use in this review. I give the new Elite a negative seven at most. Please do not buy this product.

The Best System!

The Elite is the best console out there right now. I had a PS3 and it was slow and seemed pokey for games, everything about the PS3 seemed cheap! If you’re a gamer, the Xbox 360 Elite is the only system to consider! If you’re not a gamer, then I suggest a Wii for your kids or a PS3 so you watch movies.

Amazing Upgrade!
By: Rick
December 6, 2007 @ 3:53 PM47ppm12>
I’d like to start off by saying that I previously owned a PS2, and recently upgraded to the Xbox 360 just last month. For those of you who are still skeptical of the differences or haven’t already seen the graphical changes between these two generations – you will be amazed, I assure you. I was playing NHL 06 on my PS2. Anti-Aliasing is clearly disabled since the edges could seriously not be more jagged. I think there’s Anti-Alisation -2X, it just seems really way too bad. PS2’s anti-aliasing is terrible. Secondly, the sharpness between these two systems is unbelievable (even on a regular TV). For those of you who are worried about not having an HDTV, yes it is of course better, but playing it on a Standard TV is still purely amazing. After I switched to playing NHL 08 on the 360, the graphical differences were noticeable. Game play was smooth and did not lag every time I passed the puck like in ‘06. It is a very clear image with no distortion, and the edges of the player’s bodies are magnificently straight and sharp. Do not delay yourself anymore, the 360 really is the best upgrade out there.

I just bought my elite the other day and played it for 7 hours straight. So far no problems. The graphics are great HDMI cable gives a little difference to the sound and picture quality, but I really couldn’t tell too much of a difference. One bad side to this console is the heat. Seriously the thing could heat my room. noise isn’t that big of an issue for my because if I’m watching a movie in bed, or playing a game I have a speaker right next to me and one in the ceiling corner. All in all great machine…so far.

Want Hours and Hours Of Fun? Get The Xbox 360!
By: RLiam
October 24, 2007 @ 9:25 AM35pam10>
The Xbox 360 is the one of the most fun and exciting game consoles there is. The Elite is by far the best because it has never broken down for me and I have had it for a while. All of the features that are available and all of the things that you can download and do are much more than enough to set the Xbox 360 over most of the other game consoles. Also what can beat Xbox Live? No one should totally depend their rating on what one Xbox 360 did. Not all Xbox 360’s break down and it depends where you get it and what reliable store you get it from. Basically put the comments that the Xbox 360 is getting should not hinder anyone’s thoughts one purchasing one because it is the best you will come by.

Not worth the $
By: Kevin
October 17, 2007 @ 1:40 PM20ppm10>
Just set up new Halo edition and was very unsatisfied. HDMI is the only source of true surrond sound, no optical or digital coaxial outputs. In order to utilize surrond sound you must have audio receiver that has hdmi in and out, or have tv that will output optical from incoming hdmi. NO wifi, NO hd dvd, what a POS.HD-DVD is the beta of hi-def anyways, it’s loosing the battle to blu-ray.Xbox live costs money, PS3 offers free online gaming to everyone. My PS3 smokes this 360. It will cost at least a additional $300 just to get to do what my PS3 did right out the box. THE ONLY REASON TO USE A 360 IS Halo 3. Sorry cant hear you my 360 is running. LOL. Microsoft you seriously bit the big one with this system. Sony could not have done better A+.

October 17, 2007 @ 1:39 PM58ppm10>
I got my frist Xbox in December 06 which died on me less then 3 months. Best Buy did replaced it. With the replacement system I also got an inner cooler. The sale person said this would help keep from over heating which it did for almost 7 months. So now I’m waiting for Best Buy to mail a shipping label so I can return it for a refund [store credit only]. At this time I don’t know if I should buy the Elite or Playstation 3? Only time and my fear will tell.

September 23, 2007 @ 9:48 PM49ppm9>
I just recieved my elite and it has only one problem to me. It could be that I also have on it a intercooler (black) on it. Which to me makes it alittle louder than I would like. All in all it is a sound quite working gaming system . You cant here the disk running, graphics are great. My system was made the same day I got here in alaska 6-28-07. got it 9-16-07. I will keep all informed of any probs for real.
To me it is a must,
NYKO INTERCOOLER ex!!!!
It keeps it cooler to me but is louder. I dont like that, But is fixed by turning up the stereo system.
I also put 2 sticks under it to have more room to breath or suck air to keep cooler.
1 inch by 4 inches and 1/4 inch thick across the bottom.
Special edition HALO 3 baby cant wait!!!!!!

I have a brand new Xbox elite made this year a couple months ago. Forget all the crap you hear about it being noisy, my dogs snoring is louder than this system, its really quiet even with a disk running in it. But I do keep an extra fan on it even though it doesn’t get hot just because I have owned two previous 360’s both premium and both have gotten the rings of death… Elite is a must own…

Hi All,
I just bought my 360 Elite last night at Costco. It came with a black wireless controller and play & charge kit. Was $549. I checked the dvd drive and it has the faster quiter BENQ drive. Manufactured date of July 3, 2007…so it is nice and new. I can’t tell if it has the new heat sink or not but it is very quiet.
Can’t wait for Halo 3. Also, played with the connect to home computer and played music and videos over the network. Very Cool.
This is a must have.

Being a big fan of the 360 & jumping from a core to an elite package was worth it. The black finish & HDMI give it the look and feel to those gamers who can tell the difference & it is worth the extra space on the hard drive.
With Halo 3 & Bioshock on the way it is time to get on Live. Also owning a Playstation 3 I won’t lie but I get more of a buzz out of the 360 ha ha ha.

While it may not be a big jump from the "original" Xbox 360 at least you will know it has quality parts unlike the one I sold. Despite selling mine I still wish I had it. It’s the most amazing console ever and I now know how much it meant to me even with its faulty disc drive. But still I don’t think the Elite is a waste of money, more like a personal preference.

Perfect for me not so great for others

August 7, 2007 @ 9:01 AM48pam8>
Well, first off I loved the original 360 until it died one year later (it was a launch). For several months I was in hell not being able to play Gears, Halo, and many many other of my games that never get old. I began to realize what a luxury having a 360 was. Then 4 months later the elite came out and I of course got it. It had everything they said it had and didn’t have. As far as accessories, it had almost everything you would need and more. This thing for me, was literally perfectly suited for me I felt. I didnt need wifi because there was an Apple wifi thingie in my wall with the ethernet port but I didnt need a clunky ethernet cable. The ethernet cable was only 5 feet long in my bundle so i was very happy with that. I didnt need HDDVD because well, who needs it when youve got an upscaling dvd player that bumps everything up to the same picture quality. The fans arent quite as noisy but almost unoticably indifferent. So if you dont arleady have a 360, or are replacing a dead one like me this is THE XBOX 360 FOR YOU! however if you already own one then there arent enough features for you to spend the extra 80 bucks on it sorry to say. I give this an 8/10 because its awsome but only for certain people.

Best system ever made. The games continue to get better and better. Halo 3 that is coming out on the 360 is going to be the best game ever made. 4 player online co-op. The first game of it’s kind. And the only system that can support it is the 360.

By: mrBeatz
August 2, 2007 @ 8:01 AM47pam8>
If you already own a 360 premium then don’t bother wasting your money on this Elite. The HDMI output really dosent look that much better than Component unless you are very picky, and the HDD? Why would you need 120gb when 20gb is more than enough. At the end of the day its a game console and the storage space is for saving games. Also very dissapointed with no HD DVD in built.
As a gaming machine its fantastic 10/10 but the extra cost for a bigger HDD is a total rip off 1/10

if your a new console buyer..start out with this. The 360 elite may be expensive but its worth it. sure..there isnt much of a difference between it and the normal 360. But i’ve noticed that there is a lot less lag when playing online compared to the 360. controllers are comfy easy to get used to. nice stealth black finish. HDMI port. can play normie xbox games and 360 games of course. gives u a headset, wireless controlla, ethernet cable.. and batteries :D

People just like to complain!
By: Casey
July 23, 2007 @ 1:04 PM35ppm7>
I love the new elite system. It fills the need that Microsoft was trying to hit. It works great with my 1080p tv and the INCLUDED HDMI cord is great. The system does make noise but so does every system in the world. If your a real gamer/movie lover you wouldnt hear it because you turn the volume up. Now I know alot of the haters probably live with their parents and cant have the tv on that loud late at night but please find a new complaint. The non included hd-dvd drive would have been nice but I dont just by my GAME systems to watch movies thats what my HD-DVD player is for. But you can still buy the movies off xbox live in hd so once again I dont see the problem.

I like how only people who have bad luck complain on the internet.
It is my belief, by the way, that the Xbox 360 has the best controller to date. People don’t want an ungodly amount of features in a controller. The interface is simple, and relatively easy to get used to. Plus, it actually fits into your hands as opposed to the Wiimote and Sony’s Six Axis. On a final note, the Xbox 360 doesn’t have good, and even great, games coming to its platform because it’s cheap. It’s because Microsoft is a powerhouse, and people making games WANT to get in with Microsoft.

By: John Leonard
July 14, 2007 @ 11:04 PM45ppm7>
The DVD drive is very loud and irritating. There isn’t a built in HD drive which makes it a hassle to take from place to place, which I rarely do, but still. The controllers are DECENT 7.2/10 at the most because they don’t have many more features or a blow away interface. The games line up is good but thats because the Xbox is cheaper. I made the biggest mistake not buying the PS3. I save a couple off 100 on the Xbox but its definately not worth it.

I bought that new XBOX 360 Elite and I think its a load of $%@#. I maybe played it the first night for maybe 20 minutes. Turned it off then it never turned back on. Call the support team or whatever and they tell me that I HAVE to go buy a new power supply. Remember this thing not even 24 hours out of the box and I have to go buy a new power supply. I should have just paid the extra $ for the playstation 3. If I could give it a lower score than a 1 I would.

Xbox 360 Elite Review: my own experience, a good one
By: H Lime
June 8, 2007 @ 10:27 PM08ppm6>
I’ve had mine for just over a month now, and I’m quite happy with it. While I’ve seen a few spotty reports of the "red ring of death," it’s nothing like the first Dec 05 batch. Seems like MS has diligently worked to keep this problem to a minimum.
In fact, my Elite’s DVD drive is whisper-quiet (an improvement), the HDMI looks far better than both the VGA and component inputs, and I’ve more than capped 20 gigs in downloads so far.
I’m pleased, though MS should consider those price drops sooner, to convince any fence sitters.

Well where should I start? One year on from buying my Xbox 360 at the highest price in the UK witch was in the area of £300 or so, the noisy sod dies on me. Not much chance of the same console being fixed, I am going to have to buy a new one. My advice: get a good warranty because if you don’t, your up the creek without a paddle. Microsoft after multiple e-mails still hasn’t responded. On the up note, all the games are amazing. No problems there, I can only give credit to the the guys who made them.

360 Elite
By: Elite
May 29, 2007 @ 9:27 PM32ppm5>
I got my 360 Elite a couple days ago. i plugged it into my 55" Sony 1080p Bravia and it looks AMAZING. i played the 360 premium on my tv once and it did not look as good as it does now. the black color looks ridiculously awesome. the face that it has a 120gb hard drive means thats i will never run out of space. also, the HDMI makes the image more clear and the colors more vivid. also, many people are saying that it doesnt have Wi-Fi and HD DVD. the fact that it doesnt have wi-fi doesnt matter, most of the people wouldnt even be using the wi-fi. the fact that it doesnt have the hd dvd does kind of blow, but you can always buy the hd dvd seperately. i didnt get it because i have a blue ray disc player from sony and i dont need the hd dvd. so overall it is a good system but might be too expensive for the average person. even though the technology will last a lifetime.

Xbox360 broke so I decided to try the elite
By: Xbox360 Sucks
May 23, 2007 @ 1:31 PM43ppm5>
My first Xbox stopped working in 4 months. Then, I got a second one that lasted 11 months. The 3 lights on the power button turned red. I went and returned it and the hard drive was fried. Then I got my 3rd one and as soon as I turned it on it didn’t work. It had the same problem as my second one. I was super mad!
I had almost beat all my games on my second Xbox360 until the elite came out, which is when my second one broke. So I decide to sell every controller that I had and every game, but then someone talked me into getting the elite.
This was the weirdest experience I had because I got a magazine talking about the elite a week before my Xbox stopped working. Then the elite came out and my Xbox broke. I think that these were signs telling to get the elite because it might be better then the Xbox 360. At first I was going to get a PS3 or laptop or something with all the money that I would have got for my old Xbox 360.

If you don’t have a HDTV, don’t download a lot of ARCADE games, don’t play a lot of games on your current Xbox 360, are not having problems with your current Xbox 360, this is not for you. I bought one because I was having 3 red light problem with my console, which started a couple weeks after the xbox elite’s launch (1+ year after my purchase, that sucks) The system looks tough and is because now it got a bigger fan also to cool it down. The brick is smaller and the electrical cord is slender, whic allows for easier bending. The HDMI connection is a plus but I don’t see the big difference between it and the component cable. To put it in a nut shell, the first xbox 360 stole my money, I am praying that this one does not :) This system is saved because of the online capabilities. If not i would have opted for a PS3 (even though it sucks :)

I bought myself an Xbox 360 elite and sold my old Xbox 360. Its nice to have a black unit with HDMI and 120 Gig drive next to my black PS3 but the only problem I have with it is that it looks really silly with a white intercooler attached to it sitting on a white cooling fan with a white remote. Now I have to spend more money when they come out with all these accessories in black. Maybe I have OCD or just colour co-ordinated. Also my white wireless xbox 360 controller is incompatible with it. I really believe that Microsoft could’ve and should’ve come up with this much earlier. Feels like a George Lucas milking fest with all the Star Wars remakes.

If you already have an XBOX 360 then I don’t recomend you buy the elite pack. However, for those that dont yet have one it is great value. For instance, the 120GB hard drive is 6 times bigger than the standard 20GB one, but is only twice as expensive and will decrease in price in time. It may just be black, but it looks so awsome. I recommend 100% – Great Value

I just upgraded to the Xbox 360 elite today and if you owned a 1080p tv and also owned external HD DVD drive, the picture quality is so freaking amazing. It totally blew me away. You thought HD DVD movies looked great before with component video cables at 1080i or 720p, HDMI at 1080p is 100x better. For me, it was worth the upgrade amd the money. Like I said before, if you don’t own a 1080p HDMI-enabled TV yet, then the upgrade is absolutely worthless, for those you do, it’s definitely worth $500 (every cent).

You people do realize that the HDMI is JUST an interface right? They didn’t add a High Definition DVD player or even include Wi-Fi. You’re getting a bigger harddrive which most people replace themselves anyway and some cables.. YAY!!

The HDMI is worth it. If you are still playing this system on some crappy standard definition TV then yes, it is not worth your money !

Everyone says not much more for the money… are you crazy? You get HDMI and an HMDI cable. That alone is worth the extra 70 bucks. Not to mention the bigger hard drive alone is sold separately for 170 bucks. Its a great value if you haven’t bought a system yet. If only they had some sort of upgrade deal… :)

They could have thrown in Wi-Fi. That is if they gave a darn. The only thing you’re really paying extra for is the bigger hard drive. Maybe the black color costs more to produce? I wish there were a few more new features included.

I think that the Elite is cool, But it’s for sure not that different from the old ones. Just the hard drive and the color. Couldn’t they at least cut down the noise and add an HD drive?

Elite !!! the disk reading noise sounds like a 20 year old moped starting up. No HD drive? No HDMI 2.0? No WIFI? This should have been called the Xbox rip off. Elite "1. (often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of anything " err no. When they bring the Xbox out that is quiet, has true next-gen stature then call it Elite. This is just a black Xbox.. Now why is Bill Gates so rich ??

I love the Elite…and since when it comes to games (which the PS3 has none…ok it has 3 worth playing) The 360 is great and the Elite 360 is elite.

Just got the system, it will be an upgrade from my previous 360. New color is cool, new memory is even better. Go get one.
