seems to work well. have had trouble using the firewire input. So I have just stuck to going from av1 and av2. the thing will shut down unexpectedly sometimes. Also on occasion you will finish recording a disc and it will say no title recorded which means you have to start over. I have had good luck with compatability. Projects seem to work in a wide aray of players.
