Sony’s HMZ-T1 is a head mounted display that Sony is calling a “Personal 3D Viewer.” It’s a device that fits onto your head allowing you to slip into a virtual theater-esque experience. The HMZ-T1 comes with a 0.7-inch 720p OLED panel. On your head this panel is similar to viewing a 750-inch screen in a regular movie theater. This is due to the extremely short distance between your eyes and the tiny screen.
You can watch either 2D or high resolution 3D. It comes with 5.1 channel Virtual Surround Technology. The HMZ-T1 will first be released in Japan on November 11 and will cost just under $800.
