The 32-inch B326HK has a standard HDMI port, but it does have the ability to charge hardware plugged into it, which joins other connectivity options including DVI, DisplayPort, and USB 3.0 ports. The monitor’s resolution is 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, or four times that of a 1080p display, also known as 4K or UHD. The 16:9 aspect ratio display has a 178-degree viewing angle, and is capable of showing 1.07 million colors, at a brightness of 350cd/m. Acer also quotes a 6ms response time.
Acer is pushing the B326HK towards consumers interested in gaming, and movies. Many smartphones come with the ability to shoot UHD video now — the LG G3 for example — and Acer’s monitor would show them in all their high-res glory. The company also recognizes the business uses, and mentions the screen’s high resolution makes it possible to view large spreadsheets, or detailed images side-by-side.
It’s not the prettiest monitor, a shame after the glorious S277HK hit the scene in the same month, but the stand does have height, tilt, and swivel adjustment built in. Acer will charge you $1,000 for the B326HK, a competitive price for a 4K resolution monitor, considering Samsung’s pro-spec UD970 will set you back $2,000, and LG’s 31-inch 31MU97 is $1,400. It should be available to buy through Acer retail partners now.
