Mass Effect Andromeda goes Intergalactic in Reveal Trailer

Mass Effect will return Holiday 2016 with Mass Effect Andromeda. EA began its press conference with an in-engine teaser trailer for the next game in the critically-acclaimed science fiction RPG series. Ostensibly, as the title suggests, this new installment of the Mass Effect franchise will take place in Andromeda, the Milky Way’s closest neighboring galaxy.

The trailer begins with a helmeted character in iconic N7 armor arriving at a mysterious desert planet. The following moments show shots of combat, alien locales, and a Mako-like vehicle bombing the dunes of the planet’s surface, closing out with a title card and Holiday 2016 release window.

The previous Mass Effect trilogy took place in our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and followed the messiah-like figure, Commander Shepard, on a mission to save the galaxy from an apocalyptic alien menace. The series ended with the galaxy in a very different state than when it began, so exactly when Mass Effect Andromeda takes place in the timeline of the series remains to be seen. However, setting it in a different galaxy circumvents the need to address the controversial ending of Mass Effect 3.

The trailer raises other questions as well, such as who is this masked character, and how did they get all the way to Andromeda in the first place? The world of Mass Effect has only dealt with intra-galactic travel, but never intergalactic. With all these questions, fans are eager to learn more about the newly revealed sequel. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy puts a superhero spin on Mass Effect

The Guardians of the Galaxy are the latest Marvel heroes to get a video game adaptation. Square Enix revealed Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy at its E3 livestream today, and it's coming to PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 26.

The game is being developed by Eidos-Montréal, the studio best known for its work on the Deus Ex franchise. The new superhero title is a third-person action game based on the popular comic book franchise, and it focuses on combat and branching dialogue options.
Comparisons to Marvel's Avengers
On its surface, the game might seem similar to Marvel’s Avengers with its third-person combat. The comparisons mostly end there. This is explicitly a single-player game with no post-launch content or DLC planned. It doesn’t seem to feature loot or gear grinding either. Instead, it’s a more straightforward adventure where players control Star-Lord, who can rack up combos with a mix of gunplay and melee attacks.

Obsidian revealed the sequel to its 2019 action role-playing title The Outer Worlds at Xbox & Bethesda's joint E3 Showcase today. However, the trailer was extremely sparse on details, instead opting for a tongue-in-cheek approach.

Narrated by an old man, to "make the game seem big and important," the trailer shows various colorful aliens and equally colorful alien planets. Afterward, the trailer takes a sharp turn into an action sequence, which is uncharacteristic for The Outer Worlds games. The first game focused heavily on its story and dialogue options. In this action sequence, we see heavily armored soldiers running toward an unseen enemy. One takes off from the ground using ankle-mounted rockets.

New Battlefield gameplay trailer reveals more features, calls back to old titles

EA revealed a new gameplay trailer for Battlefield 2042 at the joint Xbox & Bethesda Games E3 Showcase today. Included in the trailer were some new features that we haven't seen previously in other Battlefield titles, including hot-swapping attachments and wingsuits, which were teased in the game's announcement trailer. However, the gameplay itself confirmed that 2042 will be more akin to Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 4 than Battlefield V or Battlefield 1.

The trailer today showed gameplay of a 128-player match of conquest. The map for the trailer was set in a large cityscape surrounded by sand dunes. Besides getting a look at some unnamed weapons and vehicles, we also saw the game's grappling hook in action, with a player using it to swing on top of a large construction crane.
