Ahanix iMON Review

The iMON Remote has one monster flaw. The software used to drive the remote auto updates when it finds a newer versions of itself on the Internet. When this occurs (and it happens alot) the remote locks up and becomes completely unusable. If you are using this remote in an HTPC configuration, your system is locked until you attach your keyboard and mouse and then update that software.

I have installed this remote in several locations for clients only to be called back by every single one stating their systems are locked up. Lord…. that was not fun. I have removed this otherwise OK product from my list until they get it right. So far, I have had no input from a very unattentive customer support. I am assuming they have no means of turning it off or they dont speak english well.

If you have an HTPC configuration where your keyboard and mouse are still attached to your system, this is only annoying. If you have an HTPC racked in with your other AAV components, this product is not going to work.
