This company was once a fantastic company.. until recently. I've seen a huge decline in it's service and overall product quality. I had this remote until this weekend when i was prompted by the Logitech Harmony Software (provided by them) to upgrade the firmware.. This completed safely.. and asked me upgrade the remote software. Which is when I learned that the remote NO LONGER had the ability to communicate with the computer, rendering it BROKEN. I called tech support.. they confirmed that the remote was broken and then offered me the most insulting of all .. a 50% discount on a new remote. Which is frustrating because the remote was working fine yesterday and today after the firmware.. is broken.. Now they suggest I spend more money to get it working again..I don't know what happened to this company.. I've been a loyal customer of logitech for years… until this where i will NEVER buy anything from them again.I"m moving my entire AV system over to my ipad. Roomie Remote or iRule. Please do yourself a favor and pass this product by.

Controls equiptment ok but resets itself everytimeI put it back in the cradel. This also shuts down everything,very annoying, ready to give it flying lessons. I have tried everything I can think of but still resets. I contacted Logitec and they couldnt understand my problem… would never buy another Logitech product.

The remote is simply awsome it makes u want to use it for everthing including opening doors
if that were possible ive programmed all my remotes including the ones in the bedrooms
only problem i have is that the unit bumps the devices to another page as u add more devices
so a device u use often might be on page four instead of page 0ne .

have you tried the two known tricks?
Two known tricks:

Since it seems to charge when you hold the remote down in the base, it sounds like an issue with it making contact. try cleaning the contacts on the remote and base with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol.

The other trick is to fold a piece of paper up between the plastic cover and the battery. note, this would NOT be under the battery, but on top of the battery when you open the battery cover.

my remote 1100 stopped charging. any tricks to get it charging again only 2 months old
