    I would sill prefer an HDTV PVR in one room and an HDTV receiver in the other. Porting audio and video to the second TV in the form of coaxial is not my idea of high definition! But it is convenient for those that do not care about the audio or picture quality on the second TV.

    We have the 942 and the HD & PVR is great on the new 61″ Samsung. It is ideal if you have one HDTV and want to be able to have regular TV in the rest of the house. As prior cable users we had coax over the whole house and can watch from any room we want to (all the other TVs see the same channel though). Obviously a compromise but since the rest of the TVs are not HD and we don’t want to be paying extra $ for a reciever in every room it is a perfect fit for us.

    Not a bad receiver but will not allow local off air analog signal to be programed in. If you want locals, you have to get them from Dish Network..

    did like the dish network hidden fees for this reciever. After signing up the hit me with two $5.00 hidden fees. One for having a dvr reciever and the other was not having a home phone line..I have not had a home phone line for over seven years. you think that dish would understand that. And you won’t like dish customer NO service..they the worst…you think cable was bad…

    The fees are not hidden they are in the contract. The phone fee makes sense as well. If you had 2 separate receivers you would have the fee with dual tuners they try to cut you a break by waiving the fee if you keep the phone line in. So in reality it is not an extra fee at all. Also if you live in an area where you can use an off air antenna to get local stations you can use this receiver for them. It does not take extreme tech know how to do this, a 6 year old kid could probably do it

    Have had dish for a few years, can’t say I’m impressed. But, would cost money to switch to Direct so I’m stuck. Have had pretty crappy 1 on 1′s with Dish

    I have 2 account with dish at my house and when I call to have something fixed I have to wait for 3 weeks at the least. Wish I could change to Direct TV without having to switch all of my equipment.

    I dont know where these guys live but in CAlifornia Dishnetwork is great. They have helped me and the turn around time an equipment was fast.

    I have a Dish DVR and my TV goes through this DVR. Because of this I can’t get cc on anything I watch on this system does this system not support cc.
