Personally I keep mine locked up too, but I also try to live my life so that anyone could check my stuff and I wouldnt ever have to worry about it. However they NEED to keep it old school w the public records and background check. Thats like asking for someones phone to see their text messages before they hire them,….I call BULLSHIT!

I have my Facebook very locked down and I also don’t post anything that could be questioned by anyone.

You know, it’s funny. But people get spied on daily from the government and businesses. But when an employer asks directly for a facebook password, people get all bent out of shape. If they only knew how vulnerable we were. They would be afraid to even go on the internet, use their cell phones, watch TV, or even use one of those supermarket membership cards that gets you discounts…

Eventually, something will happen legally. Not only does this violates our 4th amendment rights, and since when does refusal of giving up a personal password become terms of termination in any employment? I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that giving you personal information that has no bearing on my job was part of my employment terms. Screw that! Where do these people get off thinking they can do whatever they want, because they are the employer? If you can't see what you need to see publicly, you don't need the password.

Facebook should just create the equivalent of a "boss key", but instead make it a "boss password", with limited information, and zero if any status updates.
