Actiontec Electronics, a maker of products for use with broadband Internet connectivity, today announced a new set of network storage devices with wired and wireless configurations. Pricings for the new Actiontec Network Attached Storage products are $149.99 for no hard drive, $264.99 for 160GB and $329.99 for 250GB, while the Actiontec Wireless Network Attached Storage products are $184.99 for no hard drive, $298.99 for 160GB and $359.99 for 250GB. All should be available in mid-January.
With a host of important features, the Actiontec Wireless Digital Media Player offers just about everything you could want in a networked media player; support for video, audio, images and Web browsing. Unfortunately it falls short in two of the four categories. While batting .500 would be history-making in baseball, when it comes to consumer electronics, having only half of your features work as intended just doesn’t make the cut.
