It’s a big goal, but computer maker Dell is convinced it can lower power consumption in its desktops and laptops by 25% in the next two years – and has even stated its aim publicly.
The company has been making green claims, and, if successful, this will certainly add to them. It plans to accomplish the power reduction through a combination of more efficient fans, an improvement in power management systems and circuit design. It also plans to work with outside suppliers to cut their power use.
