Before Blizzard Entertainment took over the top spot in the MMORPG universe with World of Warcraft and before Second Life became a media darling and found itself hosting embassies from Scandinavian nations, there was the game which started the MMORPG revolution: EverQuest. EverQuest is still around—reportedly boasting hundreds of thousands of active players—and will shortly be turning eight years old.
It’s podcasting mania at Disney again as the giant company with mouse ears prepares to celebrate their Disneyland theme park’s actual 50th anniversary. These new podcasts come on the heels of an initial success with the growing media distribution platform in May.
Disney’s new podcasts, available here, will cover three days of festivities leading up to the anniversary date of Disneyland on Sunday, July 17. The podcasts, according to a Disney press release, will be hosted by Michael Geoghegan. Events to be covered include a debut of new “Disney Vintage†apparel line, a Hollywood celebration of Disney, a reopening of Space Mountain featuring astronaut Neil Armstrong, a launch of the new Turtle Talk with Crush exhibit in California Adventure, a Make-A-Wish Foundation celebration aboard the Disney Magic and, on the actual day of the anniversary, a day-long series of special events highlighted by a park rededication ceremony in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
