Sirius Joins Sirenza to release Antenna

The small, high-performance antenna for Sirus, the popular commercial free satellite radio station, is being touted as the thinnest available for satellite radio.  Disc-shaped, it has been designed by Sirenza for optimal receiving and amplification of the satellite signals and terrestrial repeaters.  The disc form factor is the first of it’s kind. The antennae is mounted magnetically to the roof of vehicles, and is designed to operated with many Sirius radio receivers.

“We are very enthusiastic about the successful introduction and production ramp of this state-of-the-art active antenna, and about the potential future development of products for SIRIUS,” said Robert Van Buskirk, President and CEO of Sirenza.

Monster Unveils SIRIUS Accessories Line

Monster, that company which brings you all of those A/V cables and the like, is getting into the satellite radio accessories market as today they unveiled a line of products aimed at SIRIUS subscribers.

The first two products out of the gate, according to a Monster press release, are a $49.95 home antenna and $59.95 car antenna. Both connect to a SIRIUS enabled device, with the home antenna having a hinged base for easy positioning and the car antenna a powerful magnet so it can hold on for the ride.

Funai To Use ATI Smart Antenna Technology

From the press release:

This set-top box is the first to feature Smart Antenna technology which allows easy reception of over-the-air broadcast signals using NXT2004 technology to electronically (not physically) reposition the antenna for best reception. Funai’s products are sold under well-known brand names such as Emerson, Sylvania, and Symphonic. The Funai STB400E set-top box will be available in the United States later this year.

D-Link Offers New High-Gain WiFi Antennas

From the company’s press release:

D-Link today announced the expansion of its successful line of wireless antenna products with the 2.4GHz Omni-Directional (ANT24-0400) and 2.4GHz Directional (DWL-M60AT) antennas. The D-Link high gain antennas are used with select D-Link 802.11g and 802.11b products to instantly expand the range of a home or small business wireless network.

“The antennas are a great way to boost a wireless signal into the far corners of a network zone in the home or business,” said Daniel Kelley, director of marketing, D-Link Systems, Inc. “The range of the various antennas strengthen the signal in existing areas of coverage with a wide array of configurations, shapes and distances.”
