Vidikron Introduces Two New DLP Projectors

The new Vision Model 25 and Model 45 feature single-chip DLP engines, and offer custom installers expanded flexibility in installing a quality home theater system.

The Model 45 (also available in an extended throw lens option, Model 45ET) features 720p high definition performance, light output of 1000 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 1700:1, while the Model25 (and extended throw 25ET) delivers widescreen performance, 900 ANSI lumens of light output and a 1600:1 contrast ratio, making either projector a choice for home theaters with widescreenrequirements up to 96 inches diagonal. Both units are delivered in Italian inspired styling and finished to blend with most décors.

Vidikron has incorporated 3-chip, high definition DLP technology with a specially designed LightAmp engine developed by Vidikron engineers to provide a blend of high quality image reproduction andhigh light output. As a result, the Model 100 produces a light output of 3500 ANSI lumens (CSMS Light Output of 78.5 ft-Lamberts).

The Model 100’s 16:9 native aspect ratio DMD array makes it ideal for widescreen viewing, while its 3-chip, 1280 x 720 native resolution produces crisp high definition images with rich colors, deepblack levels and great detail according to Vidikron.

Vidikron Ships 3-Chip D-ILA Projector

The Model 60 offers high quality home theater video performance in a chassis with Italian inspired styling and a soft white finish to blend seamlessly with any decor.

The Model 60’s optical light engine design and Vidikron’s incorporation of three D-ILA chips, rather than a lower cost one-chip design, result in low noise without the flicker and the “rainboweffect” that often plague one-chip digital video display devices. Vidikron engineers also paid careful attention to accurate gray scale tracking and true 6500K color reproduction capability.

Samsung DVD-HD931 DVD Player Review

Quote from the review:

“Overall, I found the Samsung DVD-HD931 to be a great DVD player in its standard modes or with DVI. However, along with my positive impressions, there were a few features that I found could use some improvement.

First, the DVI 720p/1080i upscaling function is not accesssible from remote.

There is no aspect ratio control when using the DVI function. Only widescreen DVDs will be displayed correctly. 4×3 material, such as old films made before the mid-50’s or most TV programs on DVD, are stretched out on a 16×9 screen. For these programs, I recommend the Samsung’s S-video or stnadard progressive scan function. “

Vidikron Introduces New 42in. Plasma

The VP-42HD is “a high-resolution alternative to the enhanced resolution VP-42,” states a company announcement.

The VP-42HD joins Vidikron’s recently introduced VP-42, VP-50, and VP-60, priced at $6,495, $11,995, and $19,995, respectively. All Vidikron PDPs combine great styling with full HDTV capability (using outboard tuner/decoder, D-VHS or satellite receiver). Like all models in the PlasmaView line, the VP42-HD, leverages advanced engineering innovations to provide excellent brightness, contrast and black level performance with outstanding video processing. Stationary image burn, a common problem with plasma displays, is minimized in the VP-42HD (and in all Vidikron monitors) by the implementation of the company’s “Dynamic Pixel Protection” circuitry. Early models of plasma panels were especially susceptible to image burn; many currently on the market still are.

Vidikron’s launches new plasmas

All three PlasmaView PDPs are 16:9 units that can deliver high-definition television programming via outboard tuner/decoder, D-VHS or satellite receiver.

“Baby bear” in the new lineup is the 42″-diagonal VP-42, with native resolution of 852 x 480 pixels. The 50″ VP-50 and 60″ VP-60 are rated at 1366 x 768. All three are claimed to “provide excellent brightness, contrast and black level performance with outstanding video processing.”

This card contains all of the video processing circuitry necessary for superb image reproduction.

In addition, several significant improvements have been engineered into the Vivix processing circuitry. Orthogonal line processing and deinterlacing have been incorporated, and a sophisticated video decoder is used that compensates for time-base errors commonly found in analog sources such as video tape. These new orthogonal algorithms result in substantial refinement of processed images and the new decoder produces deeply saturated colors, excellent contrast, high brightness and low black levels, without the artifacts associated with ordinary processing.

Vidikron announces 4 new DLP projectors

The Vision Series Model 40/40ET and Model 20/20ET projectors deliver picture quality and professional features for home theater applications without breaking the budget.

The Vision Model 40 and Model 40ET use TI’s latest 16:9 native HD-2 DLP chip technology. The entry level Model 20 and Model 20ET also offer the latest 16:9 widescreen DLP technology and incorporateengineering innovations and a host of professional features not typically found in projectors in this price range.

The Model 40/40ET have a light output of 950 ANSI lumens and contrast ratios of 1600:1, while the Model 20/20ET delivers 850 ANSI lumens of light output and 1500:1 contrast ratios, for use with hometheaters with recommended screen requirements all the way up to 96 inches wide.
