Averatec Rolls Out 22-Inch, Dual-Core All-in-One

Averatec Rolls Out 22-Inch, Dual-Core All-in-One

Averatec continues to roll out its line of consumer-friendly all-in-one computers designed to appeal to consumers attracted to the sophisticated looks of Apple’s iMac…but who may not be so keen on the price tag. Averatec’s new D1005 all-in-one features a 22-inch widescreen display and a 2.5 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core processor…and prices that start at $799.99.

“Our latest offering was designed with the college student and business professional in mind,” said TrGem USA’s sales VOP Henry Hewitt, in a statement. “Its sleek design and small footprint make it an attractive system to sit on top of your desk without taking up a lot of space. As people downsize their office space and college students head back to the dorm, saving valuable desktop real estate is top of mind.”

Averatec Rolls Out Atom-powered All-in-One

Averatec Rolls Out Atom-powered All-in-One

Guess what? Those holdover Atom-powered PCs that keep shipping with Windows XP despite the fact Microsoft has been shipping Vista for almost two years? They aren’t confined to the so-called “nettop” market. Averatec has just announced a new version of its slim All-in-One desktop PC sporting a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor and boasting an 18.4-inch display. The unit is a follow-up to the existing 22-inch model with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and Averatec is pitching the system as ideal for everyday tasks like surfing the Web and keeping up on email.

Averatec Mimics Mac with All-in-One Desktop

Californian PC manufacturer Averatec hopped on the already crowded iMac clone bandwagon Monday with the launch of its All-in-One PC. The 22-inch machine will bring a host of high-power hardware to the game at a price just a hair more expensive than Apple’s cheapest 20-incher.

Much like the iMac and its horde of PC-based offspring, Averatec’s All-in-One packs all its hardware up around the monitor to fit into a single flat slab, but the exterior has been drenched in a decidedly un-Apple-like gloss black. Inside, there’s the same 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo that Apple’s cheapest iMac runs, but Averatec bests the original in other areas with 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, and a Nvidia GeForce 8800 graphics card. And there’s also an optional high-def TV tuner to make use of the 1680 x 1050 display.

Averatec Unveils Ultrathrifty Ultraportable

Budget manufacturer Averatec continued to build its line of low-cost notebooks on Friday with the introduction of the 12.1-inch 2575 ultraportable. The new laptop includes joins Averatec’s three other 12.1-inch models with a feature set Averatec says is intended to balance work and play.

Breaking Averatec’s usual silver-colored styling, the 2575 gets a more subdued black color scheme and angular lines reminiscent of the ThinkPad. The total package weighs just 3.9 pounds, with a profile Averatec claims is “ultra-thin,” although exact dimensions are not provided.
