Glu Mobile Unveils a Slew of Mobile Games

Fans of Superman, Batman, and even Bugs Bunny will have plenty to enjoy of content to kill time on their mobile phones in the coming months as Glu Mobile rolls out its fat line of mobile games for the first quarter. The company released a full list of its upcoming titles on Thursday.

Titles featuring popular licensed characters include Superman/Batman: Heroes United, Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rescue, and Watchmen: The Mobile Game, which will be available in January, February, and March, respectively. Glu has also prepared a game in advance of a movie with Monsters vs. Aliens, which will ride off an upcoming DreamWorks Animation movie in March.

Yes, You Can Be Bugs

Have you ever wanted to be Bugs Bunny? Porky Pig? Yogi Bear? Now you have your chance – at least online.

Warner Brothers Entertainment is rolling out a new multimedia site called T-Works where people can play the part of their favorite Warner Bros., Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera and DC Comics characters. It will be the first time all the varied characters have come together on a single site.

Coming next spring, the company claims that the site will offer "unparalleled levels of interaction for the broadest appeal, from watching originally produced and classic library episodes online and playing games to customizing characters and exploring virtual worlds."

Warner Bros. Pacts with SCi, CodeMasters

Warner Bros. has announced it will be buying a 10.3 percent stake in SCi Entertainment Group, the parent company of Eidos Interactive Ltd., developers of the Tomb Raider,Deus Ex,Hitman,Carmageddon,Just Cause, and Conflict gaming titles. And the deal doesn’t stop there: Warner Bros. and SCi have forged an agreement to develop and distribute game based on selected Warner Bros. Entertainment properties, including some of the company’s crown jewels—like Looney Tunes——along with current hits and money-making juggernauts like Batman.  Read more...

WB Brings Video Content to Verizon

Warner Brothers and Verizon Wireless today announced clips from some of the WB Network’s most popular shows are now available to users of Verizon Wireless’s V CAST high speed wireless network. Joining these WB clips will be cartoon shorts from Warner Brothers’ archives.

The WB Network shows being promoted include Everwood, Gilmore Girls, Smallville and Supernatural. Video segments for each of these shows will appear the day before the episode airs on television.

As for the cartoons, they draw from classic and original Looney Tunes and Hanna Barbera shorts such as Bugs Bunny, Tweety, The Flintstones, The Jetsons and Scooby-Doo.  Read more...

TiVo Testing Internet-delivered Television

The Associated Press is reporting—and TiVo has confirmed—that pioneering digital video recorder maker TiVo is rolling out a trial program with the Independent Film Channel to transmit several of the channel’s shows to TiVo customers via broadband Internet.

Labelled "TiVo Download," the trial service offers the IFC shows >Hopeless Pictures,The Festival, and Greg the Bunny as downloads which can be viewed at any time by the viewer, rather than recorded from standard television service. TiVo Download relies on a TiVo Series2 DVR connected to a separate broadband Internet connection using a USB-based Ethernet adapter, and does not interfere with normal television viewing or recording.  Read more...
