Nikon may have just introduced two new DSLR cameras, but the company is not neglecting its consumer offerings, rolling out the new Coolpix S70, Coolpix S570, Coolpix S640, and the Coolpix S1000pj—and the latter is the world’s first compact camera to include a built-in projector, for sharing photos with friends and familiar on any convenient surface at at sizes up to 40 inches across.

Nikon Unveils Eight New Coolpix Cameras
Nikon is announced eight new Coolpix point-and-shoot cameras spanning a wide range of features and price points to appeal to everyone from the entry-level picture-snapper to the pro-sumer picture enthusiast.
First up, the Coolpix P90 sports a 12.1 megapixel resolution, a 24× zoom, a 3-inch LCD mode, and a burst mode capable of shooting 145 pictures per second. The unit features DSLR styling, image stabilization, blink and motion detection, sensitivity down to ISO 6400, and portrait niceties like a face-priority autofocus, a smile times, and blink warnings. The P90 should carry a suggested retail price of $339 and be available this March.
Nikon Launches Six Coolpix Cameras
Nikon has taken the wraps off six new Coolpix digital cameras due to hit retailers in September, each targeting a different segment of the point-and-shoot digital camera market and offering unique features for different uses and different styles of photography. Each camera sports a smart scene selector that chooses an appropriate scene more for an image, along with smile detection and Blink Warning technology that displays a warning when it detects a subject has blinked.
Nikon Debuts Three New Coolpix Cameras
NIkon has taken the wraps off there new Coolpix cameras, the slim Coolpix S52, its Wi Fi-enabled cousin the Coolpix S52c, and the bigger yet more-powerful Coolpix P80 compact zoom camera.
The Coolpix S52 and S52c offer a 9 megapixel resolution, a 3-inch LCD display, a 3× optical zoom, and optical image stabilization technology to help ensure pictures aren’t blurred by camera motion. The cameras also sport automatic ISO control (and sensitivity down to ISO 3200, or ISO 2000 in high-sensitivity mode), and face recognition technology that can detect up to five faces an a frame, and NIkon’s super-slim “wave surface” camera body. The units also offer in-camera image tweaks for red-eye and exposure correction. The S52C also features integrated Wi-Fi, so users can send images via email, upload them to Nikon’s own image sharing service my PictureTown, or to Flickr and popular social networking sites without having to hook up to a computer first.

Nikon has introduced a series of new, consumer-friendly Coolpix digital cameras meeting the needs of everyone from point-and-shoot shutterbugs to advanced photographers with more demanding needs—plus a new high-end DSLR camera for the truly serious photo crowd.
Each of Nikon’s new Coolpix cameras utilize the company’s Expeed image processing, and are available in a variety of fashion-friendly colors. “We understand that consumer electronics are now becoming fashion accessories so we are excited to offer the new Coolpix cameras in exciting and ultra-cool colors,” says Nikon general manager for marketing Bill Giordano, in a statement. “Not only do these cameras offer superior styling and elegant design, they also offer the extraordinary imaging abilities that are hallmarks of Nikon products.”

Nikon Showcases New CoolPix Digital Cameras
Nikon today unveiled their 2006 line up of CoolPix digital cameras. These seven new cameras, which range in price from $149.95 to $449.95, should all appear in stores at various times between now and the end of March.
These new CoolPix cameras, said Nikon, all sport in-camera features such as red-eye fix and blur warning to help improve recorded images. In addition, all can record movies at up to 30fps with sound and offer a broad choice of white balance selections.
Nikon Coolpix Cameras Go Wireless
Nikon today announced what they consider to be a major technological leap in digital cameras. Their new Coolpix P1 and P2 models, priced at $549.95 and $399.95 respectively, will be available in September.
What makes these new Coolpix digital cameras so unique, Nikon said, is that they are the first built-in Wi-Fi enabled devices of their kind. This Wi-Fi feature will allow owners to wirelessly transmit photos from the camera directly to a selected computer or PictBridge-enabled printer equipped with the camera company’s new wireless printer adapter. One particular wireless transfer mode on these new cameras allows photos to be automatically transferred to a computer as soon as they are taken.
