BlackBerry Curve 8520 Coming Mac-Ready to T-Mobile

T-Mobile and Canada’s Research in Motion have announced the BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone, the latest salvo in the company’s addicting portable communications offerings. Like previous entries in the Curve line, the 8520 will sport consumer-oriented features like Facebook and MySpace integration, email, and mobile multimedia and entertainment. And unlike any previous BlackBerry, the Curve 8520 will ship with the long-delayed BlackBerry for Mac desktop software, offering out-of-the-box capability to sync with Macintosh computers, rather than relying on third-party solutions.

U.S. mobile operator T-Mobile has officially announced it will be offering the BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone this February. Billed as RIM’s lightest and thinnest QWERTY keyboard-equipped smartphone, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 features a 3.2 megapixel camera (plus an additional front-facing 400 by 352-pixel video camera for video calls), SDHC/microSD card support for up to 16 GB of storage, integrated Wi-Fi 80211b/g wireless networking, and GPS support. The Curve 8900 also packs a 2.44-inch 480 by 360-pixel color LCD display, and includes a handsfree speakerphone as well as Bluetooth wireless device support. According to RIM, the unit offers up to 5.5 hours of talk time and as much as 15 days of standby time.

One of the most iconic phones of the straitlaced business world is finally getting a splash of color. Verizon announced on Friday that it now offers the BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone in pink.

Although BlackBerry first broke out of its traditional black and silver color schemed with the introduction of a pink Pearl back in January, the migration of the color to other handsets seems to be move to widen their appeal to non-business users. Verizon is pushing both the pink Curve and Pearl as ideal productivity phones for college-age women.

Verizon Wireless has announced it will be offering the BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone beginning in May. The handset is RIM’s smallest and lightest smartphone with a full QWERTY keypad, and is aimed at people who need to manage their professional “responsibilities” without giving up their personal communications and mobile entertainment options.

Canada’s Research in Motion today announced the BlackBerry Curve, a small, slim, and sleek new smartphone which combines the QWERTY-keyboard capabilities of RIM’s famously addictive mobile email devices with full smartphone features, a 2 megapixel camera, Web and Internet capabilities, USB, Bluetooth, microSD storage, trackball navigation, and integrated multimedia options.

"The BlackBerry Curve offers a unique blend of communications, multimedia, and web features to provide people with an exceptional mobile companion for both work and leisure," said RIM President and Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis in a statement. "The BlackBerry Curve delivers RIM’s industry leading email and messaging capabilities in a highly approachable smartphone design that is packed with consumer-friendly features including a 2 megapixel camera, enhanced media player and high-performance browser."
