In an effort to diversify its offerings, VoIP provider Vonage has taken the wraps off its V-Phone, a diminutive USB device with flash memory and Vonage software pre-installed. The idea is that to place telephone calls using Vonage VoIP service, users just need access to a broadband-enabled Windows machine: pop the phone into a USB port, pop the earpiece mic into the V-Phone, and you’re ready to go.

Vonage Teams with D-Link for Phone Adaptor
Vonage and networking gear company D-Link today announced a new two-line Internet phone adaptor configured with Vonage’s VoIP service. The new D-Link VTA is available now for $49.99, various rebates virtually making the device free for new Vonage subscribers.
The D-Link VTA, said Vonage, powers up to two lines of Internet telephone services and supports features like call waiting, call forwarding and caller ID with name. It also incorporates Texas Instruments’ TNETV1015 VoIP gateway chipset, which Vonage says further enhances the quality and feature offerings of their service.
Vonage, Motorola Offer Up New Router
VoIP provider Vonage and Motorola yesterday unveiled a four port router and two-line Internet telephone adapter configured with the former’s service. The Motorola VT2442 Internet Phone Adaptor with Router is priced at $19.99 after a rebate and is available now.
The Motorola VT2442 Internet Phone Adaptor with Router, said the two companies, powers up to two lines of Internet telephone service and supports features such as call waiting, call forwarding and caller ID. It also functions as a router, offering four Ethernet ports and a firewall for Internet security. It also incorporates Texas Instruments’ TNETV1060 VoIP gateway chipset.
