Dell to Offer Preloaded CinemaNow Movies

Earlier this month, computer maker Dell announced that, for an extra $20, it would pre-load the superhero movie Iron Man on selected new computers. Now, the company is expanding the idea, announcing a way for purchasers of new computers to “jump-start” their digital media collections by pre-loading movie bundles on selected new notebook and desktop computers purchased through Dell’s Web site.

The pre-loaded movies are offered through a partnership with CinemaNow, and prices for movie bundles start at $25. Title collections are “hand-selected” by Hollywood studios, and include offerings like the three recent Spider-Man films, the Matrix trilogy, every installment of The Fast and The Furious franchise, along with a childrens, romantic comedy, and comedy bundles from Paramount.

Dell Unveils Studio Notebook Line

Dell has at least lifted the veil on its Studio line of notebook computers, a new line of 15- and 17-inch notebooks aimed at folks who want to take their high-definition entertainment, computing, communications—and creativity—with them wherever they go. Available in a wide range of configurations, the Studio line features up to Intel Core 2 Duo processors, an integrated Web cam, a new Dell Dock designed to keep applications organized, and an optional Blu-ray drive—plus, they’re available in a wide range of colors, from flamingo pink to jet black.

The Dell Digital Jukebox 30GB (Dell DJ 30) music player lets music enthusiasts load up to 15,000 songs(d) from their own extensive music collection or from any MP3- or Windows-media based music service. With new Dell DJ support for Microsoft Windows Media DRM 10 (WM DRM10) technology, consumers can choose to sample their favorite band’s entire music catalog through portable online subscription services, or listen to songs they already own on their Dell DJ. Additional features of the DJ30 include:

— Starting price of $299, with up to 12-hour battery life.
