BMW Offers Digital Audio Player Watch

BMW’s cleverly named BMW MP3 Watch is a wristwatch with a built-in digital audio player. The watch features 256MB of onboard storage and can record voice memos as well. Besides playing MP3 files, the watch can also play WMA files and be used as a storage drive. Voice memos are recorded as WAV files.

The integrated Lithium battery is independant of the watch functions and charges with the included 1.5-meter USB cable. According to the company’s Website, the battery can provide up to five hours of playing time and it takes about two hours to fully charge.

PhatBox Digital Audio Player

If you’re looking for a way to bring your digital music along with you in your vehichle, PhatNoise may have a solution for you. Their PhatBox Digital Media Players hook up to existing car head-units and work by emulating the stereo’s CD changer controls. The result is a trunk-mounted hard drive that can store 20GB and more of digital audio.

By emulating the existing CD changer protocol, the PhatBox seamlessly integrates with a wide selection of head units, including those of several car manufacturers and aftermarket manufacturers.

The PhatBox plays digital audio in MP3, WMA, and FLAC formats, as well as the Audible format for spoken word content such as books and magazines from Audible.com.
