Lexicon Displays Flagship RV-8 A/V Receiver

The RV-8 Receiver — Separates in an Integrated Package
The RV-8 has an integrated seven-channel power amplifier that is designed to achieve high power levels and unprecedented performance. Equipped with an enormous toroidal power transformer, the amplifier also includes thermal and DC protection. The AM/FM stereo tuner allows for the automatic or manual storing of up to 40 preset stations, and is fully configurable for ease of operation.

Classé Audio’s New SSP-600 And SSP-300

The SSP-600 and SSP-300 are multichannel AV preamplifier/processors that combine video processing and routing with audio reproduction, including the full array of Dolby Digital and DTS multichannelmodes.

The SSP-600 and SSP-300 are differentiated principally by the SSP-600’s balanced-audio design. The SSP-600 has a balanced input pair with analog volume control and 8 XLR balanced-out jacks for7.1-channel connection to compatible amplifiers. Both models provide 7.1-channels of single-ended outputs using RCA connectors. Both new Classé preamplifier/processors also highlight the Deltarange’s TFT color touchscreen displays, set into their radiused extruded-aluminum front panel. These deliver the user-friendly, self-prompting interface found in high-end audio and home theatertoday.

Integra Ships Two Net-Tune THX Receivers

Each features processing for every major home theater sound format currently in use, upsampling of all video inputs to component video, HDTV capable component video switching, an IF/RF(infrared/radio frequency) remote control and optional RF receiver, and a suite of distributed audio options including the company’s exclusive Net-Tune

New Rotel RSDX-02 introduced

This undeniable fact has helped launch a new compact integrated component from audio manufacturer Rotel Electronics. The company’s new RSDX-02 combines a DVD player and powerful 5.1-channel digital-surround amplifier with AM/FM tuner in a single component ideal for systems where space is at a premium. Unlike low-quality DVD-receivers, the new RSDX-02 features plenty of power and simple, flexible operation. With 80 watts of output power in all five channels and a dedicated subwoofer output, the RSDX-02 needs only a video display and a 5.1 speaker system to complete a full home theater system.

Onkyo’s Net-Tune Ready TX-NR901

Onkyo has announced dealer shipments of its TX-NR901 THX Select A/V receiver, featuring 7 x 110-Watts, Net-Tune functionality to play streaming MP3 files via Ethernet, upconversion of both compositeand S-Video to component video, and a new RF (Radio Frequency) and IR capable remote control. With processing for every major home theater sound format currently in use, and quality HDTV capablecomponent video switching, and the company’s Powered Zone 2 capability, the TX-NR901 is one of the most versatile and powerful entertainment system centerpieces available today.

The TX-NR901 includes onboard processing for THX Surround EX 7.1, Dolby Digital EX and Dolby ProLogic II, DTS-ES, DTS Neo:6, and DTS 96/24 surround sound formats. High quality 192 kHz/24-bit Linear PCM D/A converters are used for digital processing on all channels except the rear surrounds, and the company’s exclusive Wide Rage Amplifier Technology (WRAT) provides clean, linear power with an extended frequency response of 10 Hz

Onkyo introduces TX-NR801 A/V receiver

Onkyo has announced immediate dealer shipments of its TX-NR801 Net-Tuneâ„¢ home theater receiver, which was first shown to the press in prototype form at CEDIA Expo in September. This is Onkyo’s secondfull-featured home theater receiver with Net-Tune technology for access to digital music files over a home PC network, however its $1000 price is $500 less than the earlier Onkyo TX-NR900 Net-Tunereceiver.

The Onkyo TX-NR801 is a seven-channel, 100-Watt THX Select audio/video receiver with all major home theater surround sound processing formats, plus Onkyo’s unique Net-Tuneâ„¢ distributed audio technology for the seamless integration of high quality audio with a home computer network. Other features include include 192 kHz/24-bit audio DAC’s for superior audio reproduction, HDTV capable component video switching, and Onkyo’s Powered Zone 2 capability, making it the centerpiece for an exceptional multiroom home entertainment system.

NAD T 973 and T 163 debuted

The new T 973 Seven Channel Amplifier benefits from NAD’s proprietary PowerDriveâ„¢ topology, delivering performance independent of the loudspeakers.

The T 163 offers an array of surround formats including Dolby Digital EX, DTS ES Discrete and Matrix, DTS NEO:6 decoding along with 7.1 Matrix, Dolby ProLogic II and the proprietary NAD EARS circuitry for creating surround sound from most format inputs, 7.1, 6.1, 5.1 and 2.0 stereo, digital or analog.

The PowerDrive circuitry employed in the T 973 automatically senses a loudspeaker’s impedance characteristics and adjusts its power supply settings to best cope with that specific load. According to NAD, this ensures dynamic and distortion-free performance, even from demanding 4-ohm designs.

Yamaha launches 7-Channel recievers

Successors to Yamaha’s previous receiver models, the mid-priced RX-V2400 and RX-V1400 feature 7-channel amplification and utilize Yamaha’s Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology)design concept to maximize digital sound quality, with several operation modes that provide short, direct signal paths for sound clarity.

A 32-bit proprietary LSI provides full range realistic music and movie sound. Both units are compatible with the latest sound formats (including Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS-ES Discrete6.1, DTS Neo:6 and DTS 96/24), and also provide THX Select processing.

Integra bows DTR-5.4 Receiver

It delivers full 6.1-channel processing, 6 x 85 watts of amplification, HD capable component video switching, 3-line digital comb filter for composite to S-video conversion, and one of the mostflexible suites of multizone options available in a home theater receiver at any price.

As a versatile two source multizone receiver, the DTR-5.4 includes a built-in port for the flexible A-Bus audio distribution system favored by many installers, and also features both fixed and variable line level Zone 2 outputs to feed second zone receivers or amplifiers. In addition, with Integra’s Powered Zone 2 feature, two of the receiver’s internal amplifier channels can be dedicated to powering a second room, eliminating the need for any additional electronics components.

Anthem introduces the AVM 20 V.2

It is eight high-end components in one. The AVM 20 v.2 functions as a preamplifier, digital-to-analog and analog-digital converter, surround sound processor (SSP), HDTV video switcher, entertainmentcontrol center, FM/AM tuner and headphone preamplifier.

Designed as a whole-house entertainment control center the AVM 20 v.2 allows your system to operate in four separate areas of your home, simultaneously. Any source can play in any of four paths, andyou can watch one source, while listening to another. The AVM 20 v.2 can also operate two complete 7.1 home theater systems playing concurrently.
