On the verge of the Computex 2008 trade show in Taipei, Asus has announced the Asus Eee PC 901, an update to its surprisingly popular low-powered, low-priced, and very portable notebook computer. The Eee 901 will be available in two models—the 1000 and 1000(H)—and feature screen sizes up to 10 inches and Asus’s Super Hybrid Engine technology that, combined, can offer a whopping 7.8 hours of battery life.
iSkin has launched its new Claro, a hard, clear polycarbonate case for Apple’s 30 GB fifth-generation video-capable iPods. The Claros combines a soft inner silicon layer to cushion and proect the iPod, while a hard polycarbonate outer layer keeps out dust and moisture while protecting the unit from impacts and those much-dreaded scratches.
The iSkin Claro offers a combined belt-clip and kickstand, combining portability with hands-free viewing and listening, and accommodates the iPod’s dock connector. iSkin is also offering separate “Claro slims” in packs of three colors: the Chill Pack will feature Ebony (black), Ghost (glow-in-the-dark white to blue) and Sonic (blue); the Cruise pack will feature Blush (pink), Blaze (red), and Prince (purple, of course) inserts.
It features patented Polk Audio technologies and features for home theater and music performance.
The LSiW features dual 10″ drivers with high roll surrounds and 2 inch voice coils mounted on opposing 1″ thick MDF baffles. The top, bottom, front and back panels of the enclosure are finished inblack high gloss laminate and the side panels are finished in either Cherry or Ebony-finish wood veneer. The cabinet finishes, overall industrial design and high-end performance of the LSiW match therest of Polk’s LSi Series loudspeakers.
Building on the previous Studio Series, this third-generation features a host of technological advances and design refinements. The Studio Series is available in three new Premium Laminate finishes, Cherry, Sycamore and Black Ash.
Each Studio Series v.3 loudspeaker features proprietary IMS/SHOCK-MOUNT, a unique butyl-rubber shock-mount isolation mounting system (IMS) that decouples drivers from the speaker enclosure, reducing driver/enclosure resonances and vibrations to inaudible levels.
