Back in 2007 Microsoft and BioWare launched Mass Effect, an immersive scifi role playing game that was intended to offer an intense gaming experience, but also engage players emotionally in the game’s characters and story—including a a controversial (although off-screen and non-interactive) girl-on-girl love scene that managed to get the game banned in Singapore. Now BioWare has announced Mass Effect 2, promising more-intense combat, in-depth planet exploration, expanded weaponry…and, of course, an engaging story that will emotionally involve players in the game.

Mass Effect Headed to PC in May
PC gamers hungry for the sci-fi action game their console brethren have had since November will finally get their turn to play in May, according to Mass Effect developer BioWare. The company announced its future intention to release the ported title on Tuesday, along with a list of changes the game will see on the PC platform.
Mass Effect on PC will feature more highly detailed textures, characters and environments to take advantage of more sophisticated hardware, along with controls that have been revamped for the mouse and keyboard. The PC version will also feature hot-key mapping for biotic powers and skills, a new decryption mini game, and a new inventory screen GUI and functionality which should make it easier for players to manage weapons and armor.
Mass Effect Due on Xbox 360 November 20
Microsoft Games and development studio BioWare have announced that BioWare’s epic sc-fi RPG title Mass Effect for the Xbox 360 is slated to ship to retailers on November 20, 2007, just in time to catch the end-of-year holiday buying season. Set against a sprawling galactic backdrop, Mass Effect offers a multi-dimensional, emotionally-charged story combined with action and tactical game play elements.
World’s Highest Resolution 3D Monitor
The 3D Monitor features supposedly the world’s highest 3D resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels on a 20″ display and the world’s largest sweetspot (for 3d effect). This allows users to move infront of the monitor and still see the image in 3D. This monitor does not need any special glasses to achieve the 3D effect.
Currently the SeeReal monitors sell for about $12,000 and are geared towards research applications. In a yahoo news story, SeeReal sees a consumer model possible in the future.

U.S. Hits Four With Anti-Spam Charges
U.S. agents have raided a Detroit-area operation accused of sending out millions of e-mail advertisements for a fraudulent weight-loss patch, the Federal Trade Commission said.
Daniel Lin, Mark Sadek, James Lin and Christopher Chung could face up to five years in jail under a new anti-spam law that took effect in January. They also face mail-fraud charges, which carry a maximum 20-year sentence.
Through their company, Phoenix Avatar, the four defendants earned nearly $100,000 per month selling a diet patch that had no effect at all, the FTC charged.
