It’s happened with music, and now it’s happening with games. Those who upload the Dream Pinball 3D game from Topware Interactive to file-sharing sites are going to be taken to court, the BBC reports. The game maker has hired UK law firm Davenport Lyons to pursue the British offenders, and already four people have been ordered by the Central London Court to pay $1500 each, and the amount could rise to $7,000 after costs.

E.U. To Throw Illegal Fire Sharers Offline?
The “three strikes” idea is used in a number of things. But in late amendments to an EU telecoms package to be voted on by the European Parliament, it might also apply to illegal file sharers.
The proposal is that those who been warned three times for illegal file sharing could see themselves banned from the Net, according to the BBC. Privacy groups claim that what was intended as a simple telecoms package, aimed at harmonizing services across the EU, has been hijacked by the anti-piracy lobby.
Malware Media File Hits Thousands
The largest trojan media file outbreak for three years has been reported by security company McAfee, with up to half a million victims so far. The fake file hasbeen distributed on file-sharing network Limewire and others in various guises: sometimes it’s a music file, at other times it could be a video or movie. However it’s sent, the results are the same. As soon as the user runs it, the trojan, Downloader-UA.h, installs adware that plagues the user’s computer with pop-up ads, and whichcould also seriously compromise the security of the machine. Whoever did it has been very thorough and clever. The file is written in several different languages and comes with a number ofdifferent titles, posing as popular music tracks such as “girls aloud st trinnians.mp3” or “pull over levert.mp3,” or it might offer the full version of a new movie or porn.Whatever the name, when it’s downloaded, the user is as to install a codec, PLAY_mp3.exe, in order to play the media file. The adware is in that codec. McAfee says that the file has beenfound on roughly 500,000 of the computers that report to them whenever malware is downloaded, but only about 10% of that number have actually installed the codec. Other companies have alsoreported the file, but not in such large numbers.

Latest Bagle Worm Variant Includes Poem
The malicious program, known as Bagle.Z, has not spread very quickly, said Vincent Gullotto, vice president of the antivirus emergency response team for Network Associates, which makes security software.
“I don’t anticipate this one to last long,” he said, adding that the variant has had some initial success because the worm attaches itself to e-mail in a control panel file, which is an executable not used by virus writers before. “It is not a file that most people would typically block, so it may penetrate into some environments.”

Anti Virus Firms Update To Detect Bagle
Recent versions of the Bagle worm have bypassed corporate gateway security measures because they are distributed in password-protected Zip files.
On Wednesday, antivirus vendors BitDefender and Kaspersky Labs both launched updates enabling their software to open any encrypted attachments using the password contained in the e-mail text. Once the file is decrypted, it is treated as an executable file and scanned normally.
