kodak-zi82

It’s easier than ever to shoot high-definition video. You can do it with traditional-style camcorders, of course, but also with cameras that also are designed to take still photos — from high-end “digital SLRs” to cameras that slip into your shirt pocket. I’ve got recommendations in all three categories — listed here from least to most expensive. All of these record HD video and have “HDMI” output connections that let you view your masterpieces on an HD display.

Best Camcorders and Video Cameras

There are so many classic moments in our lives where we wish we had a video camera. Fortunately, with the technological trend to shrink with advancement, video cameras and camcorders are packing more power in a more petite frame. We’ve listed our top rated hand-held video cameras and camcorders from electronics pros like Samsung, Sony and JVC.

Flip MinoHD 2nd Generation (120 Min) Review

Summary

In case you missed Apple’s fall iPod announcements, Apple and Flip Video (now owned by Cisco) are at war. After Steve Jobs treaded into Flip territory by adding a camera to the iPod Nano and implied that it eliminated the need to buy a separate device, Flip headed back to the drawing boards determined the prove that an MP3 player can’t upend the established leader of the up-and-coming mini HD camcorder market. The resulting second-generation Mino HD, introduced a month after the new Nano, adds a bigger screen, more memory, and a more polished design. Will it be enough to fend off a cheaper, smaller device from the likes of Apple? Will it even justify an upgrade from the old version? Let’s find out.

The Best Cell Phone Values

When the Motorola Razr first appeared in back in 2004, the angular marvel retailed for $500 from Cingular, and even that was only after a $100 rebate. Business execs swooned over them, celebrities flaunted them, and regular Joes emptied their bank accounts to get them. Little more than a year later, you could get one for free.

Kodak has extended its digital photography offerings, introducing the new high-definition Zi8 high-definition pocket camcorder, along with two new Easyshare digital cameras. All three are designed to make it easy for everyday camera users to capture important memories and easily share them with their friends and family—and even the world.

“Consumers place high value on their images and video to strengthen and improve relationships, and have consistently relied on Kodak to help them make their personal content a part of their daily lives,” says Kodak’s general manger of digital images and devices John Blake, in a statement.

Twisted World Goes Upside Down At E3

Twisted World Goes Upside Down At E3

Majesco will be debuting a new game, Flip’s Twisted world, at the E3 Expo that begins next week – but it’s a game with a difference.

The levels are twisted, thanks to a mistake by inept sorcerer’s apprentice Flip, making the worlds cubed.

That means players not only have to find their way out, they have to rearrange the levels 90 degrees at a time in order to make progress. Oh, and the universe might be destroyed if he doesn’t succeed.

The game, for the Wii, brings new gimmicks to level-twisting, and will be available to play at the Expo prior to its commercial release.
