Alienware’s m9750 Notebook Sees Double

Dell may have stolen some thunder yesterday by announcing a spate of brightly-colored consumer-friendly notebooks, but Dell subsidiary Alienware aims to prove it still has a few tricks up its sleeve, announcing its high-end Area-51 M8750 gaming notebook, which the company claims is the first to combine Intel Core 2 Duo processing with dual Nvidia SLI graphics.

“The new Area-51 m9750 builds upon the best-in-class performance that pulsates throughout Alienware’s mobile line by delivering the most powerful combination of graphics and processors ever seen in a 17-inch notebook,” said Alienware’s Frank Azor,senior VP and General Manager for Alienware’s Worldwide Product Group, in a release. “Add to that a vast array of media capabilities, ample hard drive capacity, and a head-turning design and you have a notebook destined for greatness among gamers and digital media enthusiasts.”

Alienware Takes Area-51 Desktops Core 2 Duo

Not a day after Intel’s Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme unveiling and hip computer maker Alienware has a revamped Area-51 7500 desktop computer to go with them, sporting Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Extreme processors running at speeds up to 2.93 GHz, tool-less entry and optical drive access, front-based ports, and—naturally—a new “P2″ design which resembles the head of a Star Wars droid in four stunning colors…with mood lighting!

Alienware “Chills” Quad SLI Aurora ALX

Alienware today said they are looking to put the chill on their hot new Aurora ALX system equipped with Quad Nvidia SLI graphics and have partnered with CoolIT Systems to create a “liquid chilled” solution for the computer’s four GPUs. This recently announced computer has a starting configuration price of around $6,900.

The Aurora ALX system with CoolIT Systems technology, the two companies said, takes the liquid used to cool system components and chills it below ambient temperature to help keep the computer from overheating and provide the “ideal level of cooling for four GPUs”. It also reportedly produces a lower noise level than standard liquid cooling solutions.

Alienware today said they were expanding their Intel Centrino powered notebook line by two models. The customizable Area-51 m5700 and Area-51 m5500 have starting prices of $1,399 and $1,049 respectively.

Futuremark Unveils 3DMark05
