D-Link today said they were unveiling a new flip-style mobile Wi-Fi phone designed to allow users to make free limited Internet calls from places where there is open Wi-Fi access. The new DPH-540 Wireless G Flip-Style Wi-Fi Mobile Phone is priced under $300 and should be available this summer.
The DPH-540, said D-Link, features softphone services from SIP-based global Internet telephony service provider TelTel. Free calls can be made to other TelTel users, while non-TelTel users can be contacted for a small fee. Features of this flip phone, which makes calls over the Public SIP Telephone Network telephony backbone, include a clear color backlit LCD display, backlit keypad, speed dial, redial, multiple ringtones and email access.
