iTempo CD800 Dock Handles iPods and More

The Taiwanese manufacturer KYE Systems rolled out another iPod dock under its Genius brand name today, but with a multifunctional twist that sets it apart in a sea of other docks. Besides mating with iPods, the Genius iTempo 800CD plays traditional CDs, music stored on SD/MMC cards and flash drives, plus AM/FM radio.

The boombox-sized system delivers 20 watts of combined output via two 2-inch full-range drivers and a 4-inch woofer, for 2.1 channel audio. All of the ports for the various media formats it handles are located on its face, including a slot-loading CD player. A blue LCD displays playback information along with allowing the player to double as an alarm clock, and a remote allows users to control the box from afar.

Genius Debuts New Gaming Accessories

Genius, a division of KYE Systems and maker of computer gear, has unveiled two new gaming accessories targeted towards those who game online. The Genius ErgoMedia 500 game pad and HS-04V Vibration headset are priced at $40 and $25 respectively and should be available now.

The Genius ErgoMedia 500 is a game pad designed for use with the PC. It is ideal for first person shooter or Internet gaming fans, according to Genius. It has a rather unique ergonomic design to it and offers 11 programmable keys. Other features of this game pad include a back-light for night-gaming, four-way directional buttons, a built-in microphone jack and three different game functions which can help gamers play a better level in their favorite PC gaming title.

Genius Offers Two New Speaker Systems

Genius Offers Two New Speaker Systems

Peripheral manufacturer Genius took the wraps off its two latest offerings in the audio market on Monday: a three-piece speaker system for PCs and a compact speaker system for portable audio players.

The SW i-2.1 1100 targets PC gamers, and has features like a wired remote control and earphone jack. All three speakers (two satellites and a sub) put out a combined 28 watts of power, but the 1100 in the name comes from the infamously flaky “peak music power output” rating of 1100 watts. In other words, ignore it. The SW i-2.1 1100 retails for $49.90.
