Windows PCs Get Desperate

If you can’t get enough of the goings-on on ABC’s hit television series Desperate Housewives from network broadcasts of episodes, iTunes, downloads, fan sites, reviews, shows, and an ever-increasing amount of peripheral merchandise, well, you’re all set now: Buena Vista Games has shipped Desperate Housewives: The Game for Windows PCs.

Handhelds to Open Dead Man’s Chest

Buena Vista Games, a unit of the Walt Disney Company, has announced that handheld games based on the forthcoming film sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest will be available in stores June 27, more than a week before the film’s release July 7. The games will support Sony’s Playstation Portable (PSP) as well as Nintendo’s DS and Game Boy Advance units.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest lets gamers embark on a high-seas adventure that parallels events from the upcoming summer blockbuster film release,” said Graham Hopper, Buena Vista Games senior VP and GM. “As one of the most successful handheld video game publishers, BVG looks forward to offering gamers the opportunity to take the action from the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise with them wherever they go.”

Desperate Housewives Becoming PC Game

You knew this one was coming. Buena Vista Games today announced it was working with video game developer Liquid Entertainment of PC game Dragonshard fame to develop a PC title based on the hit television show Desperate Housewives. The game is set to debut this fall.

In Desperate Housewives, said Buena Vista Games, “players take on the role of a new housewife who moves into Wisteria Lane and unlocks the delicious scandals hidden in the seemingly ‘perfect’ neighborhood”. Brenda Strong will reprise her familiar role from the “Desperate Housewives” series as the voice of deceased housewife Mary Alice Young, who serves as the show’s narrator in each episode.
