IAC, the parent company of search portal Ask.com, has announced a mobile application which ties together local content, social networking and GPS. This application, called Ask Mobile GPS, is available for download to select supported mobile devices as a free trial version.
Ask Mobile GPS ties together Web services from three popular IAC Web sites – Ask.com, Citysearch and Evite.com. It uses the built-in GPS function of supported phones to help users find nearby business listings and make use of turn-by-turn directions. With Ask Mobile GPS users will able to browse Citysearch entries and reviews, view and interact with Evite invitations and use the GPS in their phones to broadcast their location to other users.
