Conference room projectors aren’t usually the stuff of techno-envy, but every now and again they serve up a new innovation which seems like such a good idea you wonder why it hasn’t been a de facto standard for years. Such is the case withToshba’s new TDP-SC35U conference room projector, which features an extensible arm with a detachable camera so that, in addition to traditional slides and presentation material from a video source like a laptop, presenters can swing out the arm and incorporate photo samples, images of documents, and even images of a 3D object.

Mark Levinson Ships No326S Amplifier
From the press release:
Based on the No320S Preamplifier and a direct descendant of the critically acclaimed No32 Reference Preamplifier, the No326S features audio circuits, controls, architecture, and an optional phono module all adapted from the legendary No32. In fact, some audio circuits, such as the proprietary discrete volume attenuators, are identical to those found in the No32.
To offer audiophiles the highest signal purity, the Mark Levinson engineers have chosen to use an exotic circuit board material, Arlon 25, in the design and construction of the No326S’ main circuit board. By utilizing this material in the No326S, the team was able to conduct extensive listening evaluations and employ subtle component changes — the result is that the No326S yields an open, detailed sound with the engaging textural signature that only Arlon 25 can provide.
Hitachi Releases HD Home Theater Projector
The new projector works well in darker home theater environments as well as living rooms with brighter ambient lighting. It’s designed for 30†to 300†screen sizes with a brightness of 1,200 ANSIlumens, 1200:1 contrast ratio and 720p resolution (1280×720). One of the nicest features of the PJTX100 is the Whisper Mode quiet operation to reduce noise output to an industry low of 25db….something that is really needed with LCD and DLP projectors because of the loud fans. A wide range of input/output options including DVI-HDTV, component and auto-synching RGB computer input areincluded. The unit will be available in Q2 2004 and will retail for $3,999.99.
Dell introduces new 2100MP projector
The $1,299 2100MP uses the latest DLP DDR projection technology to generate high resolution images at 1800:1 contrast ratio and maximum brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens for crisp video and graphics. An auto-sync feature adjusts the output resolution to match that of the input device up to SXGA+ (1400×1050) for true plug-and-play operation.
At 4 lbs, it weighs less than many midsize notebook PCs but still provides advanced features such as motion-adaptive hardware de-interlacing for smooth video playback, power saving auto shutdown and preset and user-programmable video modes for easy custom-configuration.
