Toshiba Debuts Stylish Portege S100 Laptop

This is the first Portege to integrate a 9.5mm Ultra Slim SelectBay drive and a 2.5-inch Serial ATA hard drive. The Ultra Slim SelectBay allows users to swap out the bay with different optical drives or secondary hard drive options. The inclusion of Serial ATA delivers faster, more reliable access to information maintained on the hard drive.

Toshiba’s new ultra-portable notebook features a complete suite of communication technologies, including Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection (802.11b/g), Gigabit Ethernet and fast infrared.

Toshiba Announces New Laptops

The Tecra S2 is one of the first notebooks to incorporate the new NVIDIA(R) GeForce Go 6600 graphics controller with 128 MB or 64 MB dedicated video memory, which is designed to maximize response time, provide better platform image management and deliver crisp vivid colors.

Toshiba’s Tecra S2 offers users a complete suite of communication technologies, including Gigabit Ethernet, V.92 modem, fast infrared, optional Bluetooth, and the choice of two wireless networking options: Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection (802.11b/g) or Intel PRO/Wireless 2915 ABG Network Connection (802.11 a/b/g). To simplify the user’s connectivity experience, the Tecra S2 comes bundled with ConfigFree, Toshiba’s intuitive graphic connectivity management utility.

Toshiba Launches Satellite M45 Notebook

Starting at 6.2 pounds, the notebook runs 14.2-inches wide, 10.5-inches deep, and features a wedge design 1.1 to 1.7-inches high. The Satellite M45 15.4-inch diagonal wide-aspect panel, with a1280×800 TruBrite native resolution, provides vivid images for viewing DVD movies in their original wide-screen format and accomplishing productivity tasks. Toshiba’s DVD-SuperMulti drive reads andwrites to most CD and DVD formats, while the Toshiba Express Media Player enables one button access to CD and DVD playback without booting the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Toshiba M45The Toshiba Satellite M45 is equipped with next-generation Intel Centrino Mobile Technology (formerly codenamed Sonoma), featuring the Intel Pentium M processor 730 running at 1.60GHz, 512MB of SDRAM, a 80GB hard drive for the Satellite M45-S331 or 100GB for the M45-S351, the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 chipset for powerful multimedia speed and performance, and Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG (802.11b/g), giving consumers wireless access to the Internet.

Intel Releases Faster Wireless Solution

Intel Corporation today introduced the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection, enabling both 802.11b and rapid 802.11g wireless networking capabilities. The technology delivers a new level of wireless network performance for notebook PCs based on Intel Centrino mobile technology.

The Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection is a standards-based and Wi-Fi CERTIFIED wireless local area network (WLAN) solution that allows up to 54 million bits of data to be transferred per second. It is designed to maintain high throughput at longer ranges in office or home environments, along with efficient use of power to enable longer system battery life. The Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection is also software upgradeable, allowing it to support future security and other service enhancements.
