With iSkin already offering a line of protective gadget covers for those who can’t be bothered to wash their hands before manhandling their MacBooks with orange Cheez Doodle fingers, it only makes sense that the next step was a cover that kept germs at bay as well. The company announced on Friday that its ProTouch keyboard covers now come with Microban, a protective material that prevents microbes from spreading.
The germaphobe-friendly material is already used in hundreds of other heavily handled consumer products, from can openers to lunchboxes. It works by disrupting the cell functions of bacteria, fungus, algae and other microbes, preventing them from spreading.
