Just last week, NBC Universal and Apple failed to come to an agreement on selling television programs in Apple’s iTunes store, with the result that NBC shows will be vanishing from iTunes: shows from the upcoming television season won’t be for sale on iTunes, and come December NBC Universal shows will disappear from iTunes entirely. Now, those shows have found a new home at Amazon Unbox—but users will be able to view those shows on fewer devices, only using Windows machines or TiVo set-top boxes, and certainly not on an iPod.

NBC To Offer On-Demand Mobile TV Shows
NBC Universal and MobiTV have announced a deal which will make full-length episodes of MBC primetime television shows available for purchase on an on-demand basis to mobile phone users. The deal includes shows from NBC’s broadcast television lineup, as well as selections from it’s cable properties Bravo, Sci-Fi, USA Network, and Telemundo.
“This is an extraordinary partnership with MobiTV and we’re excited to be the first major network to offer our viewers wireless access to their favorite primetime shows on demand,” commented Jean-Briac Perrette, president, NBC Universal Digital Distribution, in a statement. “In addition, this groundbreaking deal with MobiTV will create another platform for NBCU’s partner advertisers to reach their audience.”
NBC Universal And CinemaNow Sign Agreement
CinemaNow Inc., announced it has entered into an agreement with NBC Universal to deliver first-run pay-per-view and library titles, including movies and television event programming, on a streaming basis via the CinemaNow Web site, www.cinemanow.com. NBC Universal joins a growing list of content providers who make their video content available through CinemaNow’s video-on-demand service, including 20th Century Fox, Disney, Lions Gate, MGM, Sony, Warner Bros., and over 200 other licensors.
